Any "Latest & Greatest" about Delta?
Their seniority, not longevity. NWA generally hired dispatchers off the street so a guy with less longevity was holding better skeds than a guy that was an internal transfer at DAL. So they ratioed their "seniority" so that post integration they would hold a similar schedule to what they did at their pre-merger airline.

Well this little squatting match will probably get is 50 pages. Lets get divisive right as we head in to the most important PWA negotiating cycle.
Also, just to point out the SLI was arbitrated, not agreed to. It was a third party that gave two hoots about you and I. Their were "impartial" and we got their point of view.
FWIW, F-DAL pilots like myself have moved down too, and a lot. I am one of the luckier ones that I am clinging on to my seat, but many have not. It was not one seat but two or three. I do not complain, why? It is over. I have moved on, and realize that we need to focus on tomorrows battles and no try to rehash ones that are in the history books. We can fix some things, but there is a lot that is what it is.
Want to fix the DC, write your reps and every LEC rep every day. Make it an issue that gains consensus. It has been explained on here why it is the way it is, and it appears that is not acceptable, so force your leadership to work for you.
Also, blaming ALPA for the SLI is short sighted. WE the pilots of DAL agreed and ratified the JPWA and the TFA. We are to responsible for what we have.

I feel your pain. As a NWA 08 hire I get 6% to my 401K while a flow up at the end of this year will get 10%. Not to mention his longevity will be determined by DOH while mine is some random date that DAL got to determine for their convient 'net zero'. Oh, and I couldn't even vote on the JCBA so I just got the crap sandwich shoved down my throat not to mention the hundreds of procedure changes.
I really hope DALPA does the right thing and fixes the longevity/DC issue to match everyone else. After all, we are in unity......right?

At least that better be the answer. I doubt DALPA is stupid enough to post this on their own. Unless, of course, it's some kind of disgruntled committee member that feel they were slighted somehow.
Either way, this discussion is crap. If a guy that lives in ATL isn't happy about a payraise and dropping the commute, and can only focus on his forecast of where he would have been in a hypothetical world in ten years, then [expletive deleted] him.
Johnso, What I think does not matter. What mattes is what the NWA negotiating team thought was fair. If I had a beef it would be with them for selling you short. This is their part of the deal, or at least how it has been framed on here and other places.
My suggestion is that it be one of the items we get in the next LOA. I know it does not help "all" pilots but it helps with unity and that is key.

I suspect the answer is that the author forwarded it to make a point. CTRL-C; CTRL-V.

The PBS actual line count for DTW744B in June is 147.
135 is Guaranteed a line......FAIL.
BTW....The next number below him that is holding an ATL position is ATLM88A.....202/473.....LINEHOLDER!!
(actually better percentage wise than his commute seat, not to mention $12/hr. more including intl. ovrd.)

I suggest you quit complaining about what you get relative to a newhire, and focus on the difference between where you've been, and where you are. And please do that quickly, so we can focus on where we're going instead.
I've always been thankful for the raise but neither of us is where we were or where we should be so lets don't pat ourselves too much.
I agree with Super, I have no beef with the SLI. As NewK and I have said numerous times, us '95 guys keep our mouths shut when the SLI comes up for good reasons.
But, everything else, while over the top, is true. I understand adopt and go and confuse the small number than the big number. But, you have to admit, the division of labor in this marriage has just $ucked. From procedures to bidding to uniforms to insurance (and the list goes on) you guys have never said "it's cool guys, we've got this one just relax".
Over time, I've come to believe "adopt and go" is just code for "let the NWA guys do it." I'm ok so far, but please don't blow sunshine up my buttocks.
Rant over!
Your Uncle Ferd
As a DAL South guy, I didn't move up one number in my seat, and I certainly don't expect to anytime soon. I crunched the seniority numbers right after the merger and percentage wise I stayed exactly the same within .02 percentile. So did all of my friends as well. I was actually quite surprised at how close I ended up to my original spot. With the Pan Am merger, it took me 2 years just to get my original DOH seniority number back. With Pan Am we integrated 752 pilots into the seniority list only to rapidly sell off their junky airplanes. Nice huh?
As I posted many months ago, and recalling from memory, only about 350 DAL guys retired early, not the 1500 the NWA's negotiating team indicated. To compensate, ALPA stapled something like 275 NWA's guys to the very top of the list, so this big NWA's pilot retirement windfall to the DAL south guys just doesn't exist.
News flash for this survey guy: EVERYONE'S quality of life has gone down. EVERYONE'S stress has gone up. EVERYONE'S paycheck has gone down. This guy apparently hasn't been paying attention to current events. The entire airline industry has been in the toilet for the past ten years. The merger didn't cause this, the economy, Leo Mullin, and the simultaneous dual bankruptcy did.
