The truth is what it is.

I agree, I typically don't take hockey's posts at face value due to his history of rampant complaining, but I will eat crow if this is true.

I was about 95 percent sure he was former Delta. Now I'm 100 percent sure. There's also another former Delta pilot at Falcon that intended to fly an airplane to FLL, but not fly any scab flights. I'm not really happy about the backlash I have been getting for posting legitimate posts.
Hockey, some people think that Delta pilots are actually different than CAL, AA, US Air, TWA, etc. Too many naive types that get defensive when no real defense is necessary. Each man is free to do as he does. Delta hires well qualified applicants, then again so does SWA or any other airline I didn't already mention. I absolutely refuse to tie any association to an airline beyond my W-2. I won't take credit for Carty, Steenland, ALPA or any other namesake in this industry. I just go to work, be humble as I can (it's hard) and pray/hope that my latest and greatest version of the world's largest airline doesn't fall into the same cracks that AA, Easter, Pan Am and TWA did; statistically/historically it'll get interesting at some point.

If the SCAB was a former DAL pilot... ok. No hit on me, anyone I know or even DAL for that matter. I'm sure he had some kind of personal vendetta against ALPA or some seriously flawed character issues that likely were there when he did work for DAL. For once I will agree with Carl, the facts are the facts and there is no point in hiding them.

FtB;
ACL is here. Just doing a lot of reading. The web boards have been very busy as of late.

You need something?

I know of at least two bypassers that got Aug 2nd and the both mentioned a second class Aug 16th.
When the fall AE comes out we should have a good idea of what the base makeup will be going forward.

10%? Nice

Yep, I see lots o bodies below you Super. Lets hope nothing derails it.
We are full full full. Now if we could just figure out a way to get jet air that is below 90 degrees....

Obviously the guy is NOT a current Delta pilot on the seniority list. IF he is a FORMER Delta pilot, my guess is he is one who took the early retirement and he has a vendetta against ALPA for the termination of the DB retirement plan. Whether that is a valid reason or not, I will leave up to others to determine but in my book................NO!

I've known Hockey for quite some time, actually one of the nicest people I know and a good family man. Does he complain a bit? Sure, but then again so do most of the guys that I hired or fly with. I think one of the biggest complaints was seeing such a step backwards with reserve and the effects on QOL. If it weren't for a steady group of pilots complaining about such inefficiencies as we've seen in this merger, the shelving of the approach to "best practices" or the draconian reserve system whereby seniority and predictability has been completely abrogated then what would ever change?

Looking at this merger going forward I have seen some great changes to the PWA pertaining to reserve. The ability to consolidate reserve days into larger periods thereby minimizing commutes and maximizing time at home is for one that I will greatly appreciate; someone will always be in the bottom few percent. Being automatically released at noon before X-days is yet another. While the current call-in-honest policy is less than desirable, there have been some changes towards the good when being bumped by the FAA. I eagerly await an all out overhaul of the program but if every pilot was content with the status quo then what, if anything, would ever change?

I am trying to be objective and this is the most passive I can be on a forum limited by a keyboard and thousands of unknown interpretations, The last time I checked forums exist for the exchange of information. If something with DAL is messed up to the point where QOL is impacted, then by all means this IS the place to post it; complain if you will. If you just want to post the latest score from a ball game or tweet then there are other conduits for that. Personally, I would rather come on here and see people complain because then I know ALPA is likely being engaged and my dues are going towards a cause and building a better PWA. What I can't stand is jumping into this thread with nothing but a bunch of chit-chat for endless pages. If this thread is only here to brag about how great Delta is compared to other airlines... holy cow I can find better use of my time.

Atlanta Gate Ops Analogy:

Lets see, its 4am, and I'm finally in a hotel. You land 5 hours late, you wait an hour on the taxiway for gates and all you know is that there really isn't a list as it goes by time waiting and aircraft-gate match, and you're the lucky one for only waiting an hour because their are planes being told that they're #2, #2!, for a gate that has a plane on it but isn't leaving for another 30 minutes and then another plane will use the gate and then them.

Problem is, even though we have a lot of gates not much can be done when a good portion of the gates are occupied by aircraft awaiting crews, who are stuck out on the ramp. Vicious cycle and no 80ktsclamp to put out the fire.

Really, I feel for the guys running the frequency as pilots are testy and they probably don't have the tools they need to do their job right.

I sat at home all day and night awaiting a call for help that never came!! Been that way all month for me, as I was under the impression we were short and I could make some $$ on GS's.
Oh well.....
