What a lot of guys will do is let the phone call go to voice mail, then quickly log onto iCrew and see what the trip is. Don't acknowledge it on your schedule (you can bypass it), because if you do, it's your trip. Generally the schedulers will give you 10 minutes or so to decide, then it's onto the next person.

I have to agree with you Captain. I think it is a good thing especially with the limit on short calls. If they have not rested you somewhere by day 7, you are basically on 24hr long call. If they have rest you, you might get out of one of your reserve days.

It would be nice if PBS treated it as a waiver type of bid request, default of max 6 days, but able to get up to 9 in a row if requested.

Default STL Hub

Persoanlly, I can't see it for the same reason(s) CVG is being down...er I mean "right-sized." Throw WN in the mix and I say this is just a pipe dream,

Tin, I like St. Louis, but your point is a good one.

It's a 5 hour drive from CVG and a 4 hour drive from MEM. Does not make any sense to build that up if they are pulling down CVG.

Opening any more hubs in the midwest would only impede the strength of DTW and even MSP for that matter. Besides, with DTW, MSP and to a lesser extent MEM, DL has the heartland covered pretty well.

With all our Midwest hubs no way. AA couldn't make it work and WN basically stagnate there, no chance.

Maybe that is where all the RJs are going... I don't think Albert will ride on one though...

I personally don't see 80 daily flights happening but perhaps DAL could get the city to subsidize things like PIT for instance. More than likely its a shot at SWA to keep them preoccupied with defending turf rather than invading a new one (CVG). I doubt it would be more than some additional flights to current hubs though.
