OK, you're right Carl, you're always right. "You" and "He" was "me." You're not reading the posts either! You're just like my wife. The first line is everything. OK, I've got it, whatever. Read the rest of the frikkin post dude! Yeah, Nosmo was all over the first line regarding AWABS, which, incidentally, was addressed to you, not him. Only problem? There were like 25 additional lines that completely ignored the subject.
Yeah, its going to difficult to affect change when guys like you and Nosmo are shooting from the hip with absolutely zero credibility, references or objective observations. Only the tired, increasingly tired, emotions of "man, we got screwed!" You want an objective debate? That's what I do for a living. Flying for Delta is a hobby.
As for Nosmo, 50% of your ATL departures are late due to late AWABS? Really? Show me. Or ****. You guys are a bunch of whining *****es. I'll ask ops to show me late departures out of ATL due to AWABS for the 330 and the 747. I can guarantee you that you are nowhere near 50%. 5% maybe, 50%, prove it or shut up.

Read it again, 50% of MY departures out of ATL, not total A330 departures. I never claimed the total of all A330 delays is 50%. I never claimed in this post that my observations were objective. I never said we got screwed. They were simply line pilot observations. Your reaction to the presentation, however, has a ring of familiarity. Perhaps you should personally call some of the fNW Program Managers/Fleet Captains and ask them what reaction they got after presenting logical, objective reasons why some procedures might need to be changed. Maybe you could wirte a book about it comparing the "fNW/DAL integration process" to some of the decision making processes you observed in the Clinton Administration.
I really hope this isn't the attitude(in this quote) that you use when you research and write your books.
So exactly what part of my post mentioned that we got screwed?

DAL,
Common sense - you hit the nail squarely on the head. I have been doing S/E taxi at DAL for years and think its a great policy........ with one big exception. I hate being in the middle of a single engine taxi and getting a runway change. If we are single engine and get a rwy change we should stop and set the friggin parking brake.
Why is it a such big mystery what rwy we will be using?? Granted, I am not the sharpest tool in the shed but when I am doing the rwy change items while doing a delayed engine start I am totally worthless as a back-up to the CAPT as far as taxiing goes. I am pretty much inside with quick/sporadic looks outside and it bothers me every-time we do it. I can literally feel the hairs stand up on the back of my neck - like I am doing something wrong and should know better.
If asked what will be the cause of the next mishap at DAL my vote is for some kind of ground incident/rwy incursion while the FO was doing the delayed start checklist and rwy change items simultaneously. Now I know what you are thinking - just stop if you are uncomfortable. Well this would solve the problem at an individual level but it would not solve the problem for DAL as a whole. This should be an ALPA issue. Yeah I know batteries in the cargo hold are a dire threat but so is overtasked FO's!
If S/E taxi is so important to DAL then let them work out a system with ATC where you receive an "expected" runway with your PDC 100% of the time.
Rant Over - Scoop
Mad face for emphasis!

I hate to interrupt this food fight, because you guys know I love a good one, but I have a question. Does a yellow slip eliminate or reduce the rest requirements? I know less than 12 hrs notification it is a proffer but can one be released from 24 hrs of sc at 0930 and have an international trip sign in at 1425? All this from a midnight phone call that was no proffer.

Nosmo,
You're forgetting something, Buzz is ALWAYS right. I hope to meet him one day. I've never met anyone in all my years who is ALWAYS right. What a gift. Oh wait, it's Buzz that ALWAYS thinks he's right. Not much of a gift at all.

240 officially became 305 for this year - from the union.
600+ is a rumor for next year - from reading on this thread.
Correct me if I am wrong.
I haven't heard this and certainly hope not but maybe this is why 90 out of 120 capts who got the SEA7ER bid on the last AE won't convert until DEC.
In other words, they (me because it's all about me
) get the base and then lose it before they are converted.![Mad](https://www.airlinepilotforums.com/images/smilies/mad.gif)
Any chance of letting us know where you heard this from?

The guys were saying that Delta has plans for A330 in ATL and JFK and they will come from SEA. I hope, if it ever materializes, it will not cut the base in a half.
I asked JG about this exact issue during a base visit 6 months ago. He said "no, the number of positions should stay the same". Which whould mean if they take out the A330, equal amount of 7ER's should come in.
I just hope they didn't change any plans from 6 months ago.
FWIW.

I heard it in MSP crew room 2 days ago.

I know SEA doesn't have many departures either, but they serve the Asia A330 flying pretty well. MSP is sitting up there with only a few departures and could be easily served from the DTW base or an east coast 330 base.

Can any of you Northies help me with some info about the laundry services in NRT ? How fast is the turn around and how is the quality ? I have a multi day asia tour next week and don't want to carry a boat load of uniform stuff. Thanks

Its been a while since I've been over there, but if they still do it the same:
1.) Next day service (as in morning before your pickup).
2.) Delivered to you room (as in, with permission they will leave it on your bed.)
3.) Very good quality.
4.) The ladies who work down there are IMO the nicest ladies in the world and are very conscientious.
It's dated info, but it's still info. I just wanted to get a plug in for the nice ladies who work there.
