When you convert on Dec. 1 you now have a free paid vacation from Mother Delta for the time off in between Dec 1 and when you start training. In the past I have known guys that have been converted and not trained for a couple of months!! You will have to look in the contract for how you get paid but I think it is a proration of the the ALV for your category. So if your training doesn't start until Dec 15 and you are in training the rest of the month, you should be paid the ALV. Enjoy your new found vacation!

On the projected training window what does --- mean?

I'm assuming it means that you could possibly train any month prior to the projected conversion date. It looks like most people will be in their older seats until late fall, guess they are still doing alot of catch up from the January AE.

I didn't look at all of them, but the --- that I saw were people remaining on the same aircraft, but just moving to a different base. Therefore, no training required.

Can we just have a stupid switch that says "IN / OUT" on it?

I want to be paid 30 minutes prior to schedule pushback and up to 10 minutes after arrival !!! I hate the fact that I'm up front pre-flighting the jet, doing walk arounds, and I'm not on the clock. Then, sometimes sitting there for hours on the jet, without food, without a break, with the doors closed, jetway pulled, beacon OFF ... because that's what in the FOM and our contract. DALPA ... YOUR POLICIES SUCK. DO YOU READ ME???? I'm not trying to be greedy, just pay me for when I'm performing duties related to flying. If perhaps I make a mistake during the pre-flight, and ends up in a jet being damaged or someone being hurt, can I claim that I'm not liable because I wasn't "working"? that my work didn't start until the beacon was on? I don't think so.

Write your reps.

The counter is that do you think you should be paid 8 hrs prior to report since the FOM and FAR's state you cannot drink? The same logic follows. You can get your profession destroyed and you would be liable.

I do not disagree with you. I beleive that We need to move away from a/c or flight block time equating to actual pay. Write it in to your survey.

Only moved up 16 numbers. I thought there were more PERPS left.

That means that said person is either in the current jet and requires NO training for the award, or they were reinstated and no training and or conversion will take place.

If you are reinstated, check the reinstatement list. If there is no training and you have not trained on your displaced seat, it means you dodged a bullet.

If I recall:
A "trip" is a pre determined numerical number that is used as a multiplier with your currently hourly rate. Portions of an hour are added for every six minutes over the scheduled block.

That is how a WN pilot explained to to me many moons ago.

Ok, so then Projected Conversion month is the month one could expect to officially move to their new position. Just trying to figure out when my pay protection goes out the window, I know it occurs when the junior pilot passes training for his/her next higher paying position.

I guess it is all subject to change, but I still can believe how junior MSP7ER and NYC73N went.

It goes away when a junior pilot is "Converted" to a category senior to you.

Well it did, and it is why everyone tells everyone to bid what they want and want what they bid.

Looks like I'll be doing a reverse commute for a couple of months from MSP to ATL. I have to get the kids settled to start school Sep. 1st in MSP. We were hoping to be converted in August, but it is December for me with no training required. Is there a chance that they could move it up a couple of months? Who do I call?
