I think what was stated is correct. Four. Maybe five but it is a lot longer than you want to be sitting in the crew lounge. Also you can also call and manually have them show you there.

Funny Ferd!

I just cannot see any airline that is out there wanting to deal with a CLT base. It does not work for any other airlines route structure.

I checked in for a rotation 4:59 prior last month. Pretty sure it is currently 5 hours.

BINGO!!
If the person is hired to do a job that pays $5 or $20 an hr they should do the job they were hired for, no more no less!! If they don't do the job they should be fired and hire someone that will.
It really is that simple, so don't anyone try and justify keeping poor workers on the payroll please!

Sinca;
As I know you are aware of, given the certain compensation level in question, and the opportunity of advancement, you will eliminate certain candidates, and other will not even apply. It is a narrow field in cities like NYC et al that you are drawing from.

Sorry, but with unemployment where it is, there should be no lack of applicants. We can't pay workers in NYC what we pay in ATL but if they're not performing, there is a lack of leadership from management. This goes for the do nothing gate agents in ATL as well. MGMT needs to get out from behind their desks and supervise and if that means some terminations on the spot for violations, then so be it.

We can't run a service business without service.

What I am saying is hire people that are willing able and might even WANT to work. They should know what the job entails when they get hired and they obviously know what they are getting paid and took the job.
I worked ramp for 5 years and know first hand what it entails. I worked with people that were motivated to get the job done. We were short plenty of times but managed. Does DAL run a lean machine on the ramp? Absolutely and that could change to help things out, but it doesn't change the simple fact that you hire people that are willing and able to do the job they are hired to do.
There are good guys and gals working the ramp in many stations through out the system, no doubt. It is the few lazy sour apples that drag the rest down. These are the ones that we need to let go, and hire as I said above.

Got to love print media. Check out the lack of fact checking on this article.

I dont really care about Up 2, but I didn't want to leave you out.

So Ferd back to NRT are you seeing a difference in the NRT op beside the loss of deadheading priviledges? More crews in planning or at the hotel? Has it ramped up in the last couple months?
Scambo,

Back from the NRT Sports Bar............so this will be short but incoherent If I'd a gotten lucky, you would have heard noth'en at all

There are a ton of strange and unusual accents at the good o'lRaddisson. Like I said, a lot more jets sitting in the holding pens than I've noted before. Spares? We've had to laugh, the bus going downtown Narita has been full. Were all so jaded that it aint us.

Seriously, there honestly seems to be an uptick and melding of the minds here. But, our senior babes must have talked to your senior babes.........the Sports Bar is still mostly just us guys

Ferd <------just me and APC tonight

PS Seeing Ironman 2 this break!!

I'm not Ferd, but I saw Ironman 2 and really liked it. It was as good as 1. I am easily amused though.
