The last thing I heard was that the fleet common CD's would work on a Mac but the aircraft systems CD's would not. I believe they are supposed to be working on new systems CD's that will run on a Mac. I recently took the plunge from PC to Mac (MacBook Pro 13") and couldn't be happier.

Hey, I see you are on the DC-9 in MEM. Maybe we'll fly together one of these days!

Everything works except for the systems CD. For that, you'll need the Windows option on the Mac. (I'd still buy a Mac, though!).

Thanks, it seems like everyone who buys ones instantly converts to the cult or something. I probably should have bought one last time, I was just too cheap at the time. The laptop I bought instead is just giving me a lot of trouble and just getting tired of it.

As for flying together, sounds great. Drinks on me

LOL. Yeah, there's a secret ritual where you consume an apple and learn the secret handshake!

Seriously, though... I've never been much of a computer geek. I just really like how much less hassle this computer is and how much better it works than what I've experience before with PC's.

Look forward to flying together sometime!

I am only going to address a couple of points here because there is definitely a cultural difference and nobody is gonna change anybody's mind:

Maybe. Maybe not. Have you ever tried? I have and had very good success. Only difference is that I didn't say "You guys screwed me" It's the whole concept of catching bees with honey not vinegar thingy...

THAT is a pretty serious charge... you got proof, or is it hyperbole?

What I am saying is make the call...get paid...and file the grievance so that your other DAL pilots don't have to be abused by DAL.

Last reply.....................have fun

Nice... nope.. I'm not gonna get sucked in by your attitude... Just do what you want, and get the results you have always gotten. If you're happy... fine. Nice knowin' ya.

I am not sure why I should burden the Contract Admin folks with useless paperwork after I got paid in the first three instances. All of your conversations with scheduling are recorded, there is an automatic trail. If you don't trust your Chief Pilot, send an email so there is a paper trail. If you ask Contract Admin, they will tell you they don't really need to hear about every reroute you are given or every time scheduling cuts a corner. Believe it or not, we somehow have managed to work through an outstanding record of enforcing the contract without swamping the CA folks with useless paper trails. If CA needs more paperwork, they will send out an alert asking pilots for it.

I am in my 11th year at DAL and have had nothing but good experiences with our schedulers. I thought I was shorted once on a GS and I called scheduling and they fixed it on the spot.

Somethings probably need to go to a grievance, but I would always give crew schedules a quick call first. I don't think schedulers go out of their way to screw guys, they are just trying to do a job - they are labor like us. With 12,000 employee numbers I seriously doubt that they keep a "bad boy" list.
Remember guys- management are the ones out to screw us.

Scoop - Who has always been impressed with the professionalism of our schedulers.

You're not kidding! Nothing but bad experiances with her. It got to a point where if she answered I just hung up and tried later if I needed anything. She's gone now and I've had pretty good luck since we switched to atl schedulers. We lost some good schedulers in the move but we kept some good ones also.
