Buzz,
Rendezvous has the best dry rub ribs in town. But get there early as the ribs are juicier the earlier you go. If you want ribs and blues, The Rum Boogie Cafe on the corner of 3rd and Beale has the best blues/ribs in town. It was my favorite bar on Beale. Lots of history there. All of the greats play there when they visit town.

Buzz,
This is very true. It's also important to get there early because on a Sat night there will be a line out the door and into the alleyway. No, I'm not joking. They will be calling open tables over the PA all night.
BBq in Memphis, I'd recommend Central. Great food. Commisary is another top choice
Curious -I'm scheduled for the 606, 6 month portion of my CQ next month and it's not quite clear what I'm supposed to complete in advance - I think just the WWO CD, yes? I just did the full WWO last month (LMS, GS, 2 sims) so why am doing this now?
Re: BBQ in Memphis.
Flying Saucer for great beer and good-looking waitresses, then on to dinner at AR or Neely's. Rendezvous' dry rub is just too dry for my tastes.
I'll have to settle for a little Interstate at the airport this afternoon. Flying on Memorial day weekend because I was too stoopid to bid it off...

It was at the corner of beale street and the other main road that fed in from where our hotel is.

Then of course, youre on beale street so all the beer and blues to be had was right here.

My favorite BBQ is about a 15 minute walk from the hotel. Neely's BBQ. It's just on the outskirts of downtown. Go to Jefferson Ave and hang a right. Just after you walk out of downtown under the highway, you will see it on the left... if I remember correctly, it's just past a police station. Not a bad walk during the day, but I wouldn't recommend it after the sun goes down. If you go to Neely's, I think the pulled pork is really good, and you gotta try their "Sock-it-to-me" cake for dessert. Love it!
