Between new equipment and pilots who retire or medical out early the advancements at the airline should be quite a bit faster then a straight retirement curve. Historically it always has been. 50 percent of pilots did not make it to age 60 because of medicals or early retirements. There will not be a lot of early outs on the Delta side but should be some from the NWA side. The medicals will continue as always. 62.5 is based on no early retirements but the normal amount of medical retirements.
There may be some new metal sooner then some think. I will not however be a 100 seat aircraft. The 100 seater is never coming to the mainline. Management still does not feel they can fly a aircraft with less then 140 seats at the mainline except in some limited situations. They have felt this way since 1991 and nothing has changed today. There may however be some interesting moves on the top side for equipment. Perhaps as early as 2011 and yes the scope issues are a issue in the new equipment and holding up any announcements.

OK I can't get a straight answer for this. I had nine days of reserve in a row. A few former NWA friends of mine said they needed to call me and put me to rest for 24 hours and long call doesn't count for that rest. I worked or was on short call for 8 of the 9 days and one long call day. Former NWA friends that's bull, they needed to call me and give me 24 off. I called scheduling and they said there is no such rule. Hmmm?

How often do these AE bids come out? I hear something about another bid coming out in the fall.
There has been a debate about that this weekend. For a normal AE yes, but there is some thought with a scenario where a pilot wants to stay in the last seat of his displaced category before reinstating. It has been suggested to put 100% in the percentage column to force the computer to look at it prior to moving to the reinstatement.
Silly computers.
Silly computers.

Since Delta gave all of our NYC-CDG to Ma France, does anyone know what it is like to non rev on AF? Will I get uprgraded or not? 9/9 seats available right now, but that is on the 380 and on the 777 there is also 9/9. Just curious, thanks.
AFAIR, AF does not upgrade nonrevs. Even their own.

You better explain the scope side of this. (Are you referring to the 777-300 and fences, or scope? There is a difference)
