If you saw that view you should have been wondering "which way will they want me to turn on the go-around," or "I wonder if full slaps, full speedbrakes, gear down, idle thrust will get me down in time"! (I would opt for the go-around...just my own "personal viewpoint")...And ATL handles traffic way better than DFW...

I'm having trouble with some of my research... maybe you can clarify this for me: is it true that while you were inventing the 3:1 descent, you wrote Einstein to suggest that he might want to add the "square" at the end of E=MC?

New was born stabilized.
For those that don't know the story, New was born on a dark stormy night, during a wartime medevac flight near Rangoon (where New's family "summered").
As they approach Macho Grande, the plane encountered heavy flak, which instantly killed the captain, and frightened the copilot into bailing out.
New emerged as the plane entered an unrecoverable dive, punched out the doctor for spanking his hinie, gave a gentle pat on the nurse's tush, gave mother a gentle kiss, and cut his own umbilical cord before heading up to the business end.
Things were serious, and New barely had time to pull the dead captain out of his seat. Because New was six months premature, he struggled slightly with the tie (he was in fact inventing the triple Windsor), but the hat fit perfectly. As he took to the seat, he realized he might struglle with the rudder pedals, and he summoned the nurse to sit in right seat. And to bring him a paper (it was the USA Yesterday, back then).
New took a sip of coffee, and steered the aircraft directly over Macho Grande. In fact, he was the first pilot to get completely over Macho Grande. To make a point, he came around for a second pass. Inverted.
But it was time to head for friendly territory, and for New to make his first landing. New wasn't worried. Mommy was safe, the nurse looked mighty fine, and the plane... was a Douglas.

I'm still laughing. Mom was okay, the nurse was mighty fine and the airplane was a Douglas... I'm going to wet my pants man.

Here: I found in my research a letter from the Pope, challenging Knew to a funny hat contest, and wagering a box of cigars. I also found a receipt from Abbott uniforms for (1) hat-black, a delivery slip from UPS for (1) box of Assorted Miscellaneous Items (the word "Cohiba" has been crossed out), and a hand-written note saying "Smoke this, beotch!", signed "HF".
