Any "Latest & Greatest" about Delta?

The easiest way:
-88s have two sets of "wiskers" (strakes), 1 pair on the nose, another pair on the nacelles.
the -50s only have them on the nose.
-30s and -40s don't have any. The -40s are slightly longer and have 97xx tail numbers.
-10s (wish we still had them) only had 1 overwing exit per side and no slats. What a great airplane that was...it was a real rocket.
FWIW, all NWA DC-9s have the digital pressurization mod. There is only one outflow valve, where the old "butterfly" valve was, and it's rectangular, not circular.

Yes, two DAL guys were mugged walking from Manchester Arms back to the Comfort Inn. They had their laptops stolen and were roughed up a bit. When I was there this past summer, the Crowne Forum had 12 cars stolen out of their parking lot in one night. Hookers are working VA Ave up and down the street in front of Spondivits and Malones (and they aren't "lookers"). If you've been back there recently, the Crown Forum parking lot security is tighter than Fort Knox. Security at the Comfort leaves a lot to be desired however.
Definitely would not walk from the training center back to the hotels after dark. Either drive your own car or take the van.

One night in front of the KFC (that's in front of/next to the hotel) We saw a 50cent lookalike with dreads and no shirt walking two pit bulls down the middle of the street with lengths of rope around their neck's for a leash. I asked if he was sure he wanted to get out. He turned and replied with a stupefied look on his face and said "you just can't make sh!t like that up!"
It's probably not as bad as we make it sound, but every so often, it's worse.

Must have missed both of them...I heard both options either to keep or sell but I didn't hear that they decided to sell.

I really don't think they are hard to tell apart.

I'd be very surprised if the company didn't require a full course to go from the -9 to the -88. When DL had -9s it was a full course. The airplanes really don't have much in common, from a pilot perspective, at all.
