Why should a 12th year 777 F/O pilot make $2,002 (14 hr @ $143/hr) in a single day for a 14hr flight to Narita, when he's sleeping for 6 of those hours and never touches the controls the other 8; but a 12th year DC9 F/O only makes $1,545 (15 hr at $103/hr) for working 30 hours over 3 days with 15 landings, and no paid naps?

Therefore, it is very important that the more time at company and the more senior you get the more money you should be able to make. It has been the way the game has been for a long time and the junior DC-9 guy knows it. How many 25 year old senior management guys or CEOs are there out there? Sorry, but suck it up, I have paid my dues and am still paying them to get to higher paying positions.

Don't have a contract with me right now, but I believe the minimum time off between SC periods is 10 hours. Just like minimum rest required in base after finishing a reserve rotation. This gets you your 8 hours of rest. Do you have a copy of "When Scheduling Calls?" The answer is in there.

It's called putting in your time and paying your dues as it is with most every other profession in this country. Our profession is unique in that you can't just hop to another airline and make the same pay.

Plus, getting shot at, riding around on top of explosive devices, or flying 16 hr. days for 27-70k is enough "dues paying". If you've been hired at a major, you have already "paid dues" in one way or another.

Whats up with the LGA swap decision?
