Any "Latest & Greatest" about Delta?
My bad I thought they were at MSP too.
They had a small 747-200 base in MSP right up til the end, but I don't think the 400 was ever based there.
Any guesses on where the bodies will come from? IE is the DTW 744 category senior enough to move en masse or will folks from all over be able to bid into NY?

My experience was quite different. Was told by a LCA that at their last meeting it was mentioned that the decision to not furlough was a good one because the pilots they would have furloughed are very much needed now (and this summer). Yes, pretty obvious now, but it was a segue to the topic of new hiring, and while the decision has yet to be formally made, all indications are hiring will take place to get new pilots ready for flying for next summer. My sense was from this LCA was that meant something by the end of summer, but that's just my take on it.

I believe we're on different discussions here. My point is that under the NWA way you got your pay bump once the first guy in your newhire class finished OE. In my case that date was on the 8th. Under the NWA way that pay bump would begin on the 1st of that month since the individual finished oe before the 15th. Now since DAL isnt giving us our longevity bumps at DOH like you guys and instead keeping us under the NWA way then i should get my bump on the 1st of said month that guy finishes OE. Some PMNWA types are concerned because they think DAL is giving the pay bumps on the date that that individual finishes OE instead of following the NWA procedure of beginning it on the first. Hence we'd get 2nd year for 8 days and then 3rd year for the remainder which is wrong. IF we're not getting the 3rd year bump on anything but the first then it WILL be an issue.

The 744 is a very senior aircraft...... The top 4 FO's are all under 500 on the seniority list. My guess is you will see the NYC base go very senior either with current 744 drivers or new guys who live close to NYC. I know I was just talking with a 757A that is trying to bid the aircraft but can't get on due to no openings.
The need em, they just wanted to make sure that we would still need them going forward. The current forecasting is showing a need of at least 300-400, but as we know forecasts are not set in stone. The first checkpoint in shoring up 2011 summer flying is in two weeks, another one mid summer, then on in Sept, One in Dec and the final in late Feb early March when they publish the summer sked.
