Nope we all do but with the economy going to crap, it does not mean anything. The pull down is for the economy not the merger. It is quite simple to see. We would not have a legal leg to stand on.

Deal. I've thought about it, and I too would be sour I was going to be bumped. I just don't want to see us divided over things that are done. I wish we could all be where we wanted to, but I know that can't happen. If you do get displaced, I hope at the very least you get your base of choice.

Big legal word for we can do what every we want (the Company). Furlough proctection clauses are nothing more than the illusion of a nice reach around. That has been proven in the past and will be proven once again at DAL.

It may be my mistake on the NW furloughs. I got that information from the SLI transcripts. I did go back and take a quick look and I did make a mistake, the company had contacted the union about furloughing 350 NW pilot but it appears they put it on hold to because of the merger. As far as DAL was concerned I can find no evidence that supports and upcoming DAL furlough but I could have missed something. Concerning the reductions I was simply referring to the 12 to 15% cut that was announced by Delta and is fairly well documented in various press releases as well as on this board.

As far as the early outs being offer to the other employees, I suspect that given the expense and other contractual issues that pilots bring to the table we will be offered something different or they will just furlough. So in that we agree.
I understand your "hope for the best, prepare for the worst" mentality. I think it's smart for us all to take that approach.

As for the rest, please reference my earlier post. It has been edited.

Question

Soooo, hoping I dont get F'd, how many of the former NWA dudes want to get out west? Wasn't the group pretty heavy east coast and midwest?

You can count me out, though you're probably senior to me anyway. I'm on the 320, and I don't want to go any farther west then MSP. I may not have a choice though. I think most guys out west are either senior enough for Seattle, or are on the 742 in ANC. I know there are some West Coast commuters, but I don't know how many. Sorry.

Are the voluntary out / early retire programs been offered to all new DAL employee groups, including pilots? Any details of what is included and if it would be attractive to any?

I've seen 2 programs thus far, and pilots are NOT eligible for either. Maybe early out programs for pilots are in the works?

If they will give a 4 or 5 year leaves of absence with a guaranteed return I would be all over that. Maybe a fair amount of guys with other income would like to take advantage of such a program and miss out on the upcoming pain but still be able to come back in a few years. This could save a few on the bottom that may not have anything else.
