If Boeing does not play ball and show up to the table on the penalties for the 787, RA has stated in more than one place that he would convert the order to the A350.
Also understand that the -71 AC does not take in to account all of the MD-90's that will be arriving. Those are not on the balance sheet yet, nor in our possession, so they will not be accounted for yet, nor will 777 orders that are not placed yet since there are no production slots.

86 aircraft are subtracted:
-31 DC-9's,
-15 SF340's,
-35 CRJ 50's
15 are added, inlcuded 777's, a 738, and some MD90's.
For a total loss of 71.
As for the mergers:
We will buy AS if it is deemed necessary to keep the Asian feed. I bet we buy HI if they get a HND slot, and we will buy the route authorities or the entire airline of Spirit to compete with American in LA. (That is if the LA governments do not grant more slots to us, which we are asking for)
We are probably going to "hide" a little profit if you will, and the majority of that is in early funding of pension obligations, debt paydown, JFK and LGA construction, as well as building our war chest.

Our counsel expects FAA/DOT decision on slot swap to occur before any merger decision might be reached.
1 question, 1 follow up. Its kind of a hard concept.
Or for a total of 11 MD-90 our of the 60 they are getting! Some of those will be replacements for older 88 jets. The 88's will be parked when they hit a heavy check, but there will be a time when both are in service, so we will see a net gain before they pull the 88's. Clear?

Thanks. Since "sources" say UAL and CAL might make a decision at the end of next week, I interpreted it that way as well. It's consistent with what you're hearing.
Interesting nothing is being mentioned WRT to a new JFK terminal. But those two issues are tied. I would think they would want to announce a comprehensive plan for New York, all at once.

I go in half way through, they didn't mention JFK terminal 4 and the removal of 3?
