Well those were the street estimates. Right on. Lets hope this little European disruption does not cause the rest of the year to go red as well. (Guessing not)

FWIW, Q1 2010 was predicted to show red with the rest of the year significantly in the black.

I'm curious how that cost will go down? Sure we have people who won't be flying now at all But there are still so many people to still transport on what I'd guess will be 100% LFs for a while, so can it be a marginal loss overall but in some markets maybe will have LFs nowhere near what they wouldve been.

I don't know trying to find the silver linning in the clouds. Of course that silver linning might just be rime icing.

Cost will go down as the static staffing costs are spread out over more block hrs.

In pilot terms that means FTB and ACL will be flying 80 hrs per month rather than 30. Extrapolate that out over the entire work force and the labor costs per ASM go down. So do the maintenance costs, facility costs, marketing costs, etc.
It is not that the actual dollar amount goes down, it is that the costs are spread out over more seats.

As for the European operation. Those seats are paid for. We would run extra sections in to many cities, but many of those cities like LHR are slot controlled. Those slots are gone. Add to Eurocontrol is going to have some sectors at reduced rates. Finally the people we got to move, have already paid for their seats, and we are in the busy time of year, so many of these flights are already full.....

so that map shows the shuttle coming over MGM, would it be audible and breaking the sound barrier?

It's still not as interesting as watching the 88 come into Atlanta.

but here is a video from the HUD as the shuttle comes into land:

Q1 webcast going on right now:

Investor Relations - Event Details

Anderson says we'll offer roughly same capacity as last year, with 71 less aircraft. I assume he's talking about the DC-9 and RJ's.
