Any "Latest & Greatest" about Delta?
Anyone want to guess how much fuel Delta wastes due to ground personnel not being in position at the gates to meet an arriving airplane? System wide it's huge.
Ever wonder how much the terminal layout at JFK cost Delta in wasted fuel?
Lots of low hanging fruit in regards to fuel burn at Delta and most of it has nothing to do with the pilots!

A couple of questions. I asked earlier if anyone knows how many, if any, PIRP pilots there are left......still wondering.
Also, if I remember correctly from the updates at the LCA meeting that were posted, RA said all the 757/767's (about 25?) that are in the desert are coming back to the line. What, approximately, would be the date when all of these would be back? Seems like we would need quite a few bodies to cover this as well as additional 90 flying. WOOHOO!

By the way... I'm tired of waiting for the bids to come out. This is the computer we need to run our bids every month!!
Here's a picture of the computer Delta currently uses to run our bids...

Denny, I checked the original list that was published and it shows a total of 46 to retire by the end of April and May. 30 should retire at the end of April: 20 - A320 CA, 1 A330 CA & 9 B767 CA's. 16 should retire in May : 7 A320 CA, 1 A330 CA and 8 B767 CA's. Again this is based on the list published last fall.
Thanks! That's what I was wondering and didn't know where to look.

I think the big time consuming thing is running it back by the union and them approving it or sending it back.
Actually 22 A/C. RA stated it would cost about $200 Million to bring them all back and will do so as needed. No specific time line given. He did say that the decision to not furlough was a good one in hind sight. We are properly staffed for this summer (his words) and that any decision to hire would have to be made in the next month or so to cover next summers flying
Thanks Maddogmax.
