Good pickup Rocky. Just wait and see what transpires.

Cargo is big over there. This gives us a lot of access.

I have always staid that D-ALPA should get a cut of the revenue from each deal. Not total, just a percentage of DAL's part of the pie. AF/KLM is 12 billion a year. Do the math on a 2-3% take of the margin. That alone is worth a few zeros in each pilots bank account a year!

Think of a recording artist, or an actor. They get a percentage of the revenue off of each sale. They seem to be doing OK!

If we could get a percentage that would be outstanding but I'm not going to hold my breath.

I have also flown with 15 year 757 Captains plus DC10, MD11 Captains

So yeah we have pilots who are more exprienced than recent new hires.

Sorry but the truth hurts

Second thing, the fly it first contract later line you wrote. This is ironic because as you know, Northwest Airlines presented its pilots with a contract that included the creation of Compass and the flowback/flowthrough and the pilots approved it for various reasons. Other than three mainline flowbacks, no Compass pilot ever got to vote on the current contract.

The crowd you should be concerned about, rather, is those who are flight instructing and time building right now. If we all do not educate them as to what alter-ego carriers are, what standards they should try to have when applying for jobs when things turn around, and what carriers to try and avoid working for, then we will have a group that will take the keys first and get a contract later.

Understandably, and through no fault of their own, they will be itching to leave the piston arena and enter the 121 world for a better schedule, health insurance, and the chance to travel. Even a bottom feeder operation looks good compared to some of the jobs they will have been working for a few years when hiring starts.
First I apologize for bringing this up because I think these posts are forgetable.

However, there are a lot of people on this forum that fought hard to push the CPZ to mainline issue and there are a lot of people on this forum who will continue to push for CPZ. I think throwing out these broad statements would be a poor direction to go even when wrongly provoked.

And touting seniority and experience in a group of 300ish pilots to a group of 12,000 is silly at best. And FWIW, the soon to be ATL 767 A plug is a March 91 hire. This kind of reminds me of the conversation with 2 ASA pilots in the js recently who thought Skywest would be buying UAL soon because they have a $100M in cash. Stuff festering in the cockpit of one group doesn't always hold water.

The CPZ pilot group has shown itself to be a different type of regional airline and as a pilot group better than that on this forum.

Now, to the more important face, no I do not believe Compass pilots are an issue in any way shape or form. Comair maybe. Kidding.

If we want a target, make it SWA and the FAA/DOT, those who are actively lobbying and fighting to replace and weaken Delta Air Lines while claiming to do it for the public instead of fessing up to a dieing business model that is anything but LCC.

I think Delta ought to claim to be a LCC and sell 30 $39 tickets on Tuesday flights that leave before 0600. Then keep all of the other prices the same. Being an LCC is nothing more than making billboards that are nothing more than false advertising. Its about being new and therein lower cost but without the market share, capital and assets to do anything more then pick at the legacy carriers.

Satch,
I do not care what they want, I care about what we can do to benefit this group!

I do get what you are getting at though.

I like that system, but the hourly rate needs to be high enough or restored enough for guys to sign on to that! I know I would. I plan on 70 hrs a month and anything above that gets saved.
ACL,

Love your thinking - everyone should be able to live on 70 hours (kind of hard to do at current rates particularly if you have kids in college and trying to pay off 4 years of furlough bills). Our pay rates should be based on guys getting 70 hours/month and anything over that is by choice or gravy. You never know when you might be back on reserve and getting only 70 hours/month. While I know the company needs some flexibility, being able to set an ALV as high as 81+ with an LCW up to 88+ is way too high.

Trust me. I know the way you feel. I was forced to learn to live this way. I am lucky I have a very smart and capable wife who works. She works so that we have options, not because we want her to.

I am in 100% total agreement that we need the 70 hrs per month to pay at a decent level. I too would like to put the kiddos in a private school.

Does anybody have a document or know where I can find out how much the premiums are for each of the health plans? I've looked everywhere in the Self Service section of our benefits and can't find the premium (paycheck deductions) amounts for the different health plans. I know it shows up online during open enrollment, but that screen isn't available right now. I've also looked through the 2010 Benefits Guide, but they don't have the premiums in there either. You need a dang Phd to navigate our website!
