Since I ride AMR most trips, it doesn't affect me as much as the other DFW/NYC commuters. I haven't and WILL NOT ride their J/S.

Sure enough, they had awarded it to someone junior. Here was my mistake. Without thinking I immediately called skeds and inquired about the mistake. He took about 2 minutes and came back and said,"You are absolutely correct, the trip is now yours." After I hung up, a friend which had over heard the conversation said,"That was pretty dumb, if you had of waited until after the trip, they would of had to pay both of you." Doh!
Excellent point! See the "grandpa's" on here do have something to offer .

Before this turns into a civil war re-enactment, I'm just messing with you, ha!

I put in for an Authorized Personal Drop. Is this the best way to get the day off? What is the difference between an Authorized drop & just a regular Personal drop? I know I've read about it somewhere but I'm suffering from imformation overload (along with most of the other DAL-N guys).

Also, the way I understand it is they will reduce my monthly Guarantee by 3.8 hrs (or 1/18th). Is this correct?

Thanks!
Didn't realize you were married! Congratulations, if you're who I think you are.

Pretty sure we flew together at our last company (you did part of my captain OE.) Also, we had dinner when you were in MSP for CQ, enough hints? I'll send you a PM here later.

I've played around with this quite a bit. First attempt is usually to move X days, then use a PD (which are unlimited) that will get approved if there is adequate coverage, and finally an APD (which as someone already said, only requires 25% of the required reserves to get approved.)

You want to try to save your APD unless you really need it because you only get one per year. It's reloaded in your anniversary month. APD's also have restrictions on when you can use them, such as around holidays.

I used an APD last year around the holidays, and your question about reducing pay is correct if memory serves me correctly.

Good luck and let me know if you need other ideas for getting it off. There's usually a way, as long as it's not a holiday. BTW, I thought you MEM guys never flew anyways, so it shouldn't be an issue right??

That's great....for you.

How about all the future CVG commuters where CMR may be the only game in town?

It's your cockpit, Captain. I acknowledge that you get to do what you decide on your flights. I ask you to reconsider whether this is truly a safety issue or a political issue. The Germans and Japanese have been some of our staunchest allies since 1945....

No worrys. As I mentioned somewhere on this site, I am just a clown in a pilot suit. I laugh at just about everything. It's good for longevity. Ha

I think you're MEMDC9B. I just checked and there's plenty of coverage. Just put in a regular request to drop a reserve day and it should be granted. You'll lose pay for that day.

DO NOT use an authorized personal drop (APD) unless absolutely necessary. Chente wrote that we have four of those. That's misleading. We can APD up to 4 days, but we can only use it once per year. So if you APD 1 day, that doesn't mean you can APD 3 more days later.

Go to PCS, then Leave Requests. Just make sure you click on Personal Drop, not Authorized Personal Drop.

Hah! I can better that. Back in 2002, I was displaced back to NYC M-88A and was in training scheduled to be done well in advance for the next month. So I put in for an SRL (Supplemental Reserve Line) and didn't get one, even though the 5 SRL's had all gone junior to me. I called Dewey Jenkins and asked him ****. He said I'll get back to you. About 1 hour later he called me and said there was a mistake and you can be paid for the SRL or you can fly it-your choice-so I got the month of July 2002 off with pay-a 78 hour line.

We have about 15 reserves on every day but Icrew says we only need 2 or 3 so I'm hoping they will approve it.

Thanks for the info!
Don't waste an APD when there are more peeps avail than required. Just put in a PD and see if you get it.

Delta Air Says March Traffic Up, Snapping Streak Of Declines

DOW JONES NEWSWIRES

Delta Air Lines Inc. (DAL) said its passenger traffic increased in March, snapping a streak of months of declines for the world's biggest carrier by revenue.

Delta said its system-wide traffic increased 3% from a year earlier as capacity fell by 1.6%. The percentage of seats filled increased 3.7 percentage points to 84.2%.

In the U.S., traffic increased 2.8% on a 0.8% decrease in capacity, while 85.4% of seats were filled. International traffic increased 3.3% on a 2.8% drop in capacity, and 82.2% of seats were filled.

Airlines have seen traffic bounce back recently, as Southwest Airlines Co. ( LUV) said earlier Wednesday its traffic edged upward in March, and Continental Airlines Inc. (CAL) last week reported increased March traffic.

Delta had strung together months of traffic declines, though in January, company executives said business travel demand was improving. President Ed Bastian at the time said the air carrier's revenue "showed indications of economic recovery."

Shares of Delta dropped 3.6% in recent trading to $14.14. The stock is up 24% so far this year.
