Anyone ever talk to Carl? I personally think this place is better off with more opinions and more posters. Hmmmm? How can we lure him back? Here are a few ideas:

1. Unlimited caddy swimming hours (no pool - pond ony).
2. One free gopher trap with every post.
3. Free subscription to "Varmint Killer" magazine.
4. All expense night out on the town with Lacy Underall.
5. Right of first refusal on all of Tiger's rejects.

By the way ACL, I'm still going to appologize to Scoop and KC when they return. I was way out of line last night. One thing you will find about me, I may be highly opinionated, but I will admit when I am defeated or when I'm wrong.

Edit: Speaking of Scoop, there you are. Sorry Scoop, I got completely carried away last night. I have since deleted that condescending post of mine.

Maybe I am full throttle out of this career and on to the FAA!

Things will be full throttle in a few short weeks. AE probably the early early part of May.

Agreed. The company will not likely want to open up early. They know the 2012 contract is going to be more pilot friendly. They will most likely drag it out as long as possible. Not sure how negotiating with RA is going to go, but at least Terry Erskine is gone. I doubt the company will hire a professional negotiator this time around, but I could certainly be wrong. We shall soon see. RA is probably saying to himself, "12000 pilots, what have I done?"

Our amendable date was December 31, 2009. We would have opened April 1, 2009 (1 year ago). What was the financial condition of the company leading up to 4/1/09 through today?

And you wanted to open during that time?

I'll pass, thanks.

Aren't you one of the guys that talks about the consequences of delayed contracts? We could have chosen to "fight" the merger (and been about as effective as AFA/IAM...where'd it get them?) and our company would have lost even more money. You wouldn't have unprecedented merger equity in your account. You wouldn't have had the pay and DC increases from 1/1/09 and 1/1/10 in your hand.

How much would your mythical 2009 contract had to pay you to make up for the value of the pieces you would have lost by not agreeing to the JCBA? And how were you going to extract that value while the company was losing substantial sums of money (and every other mainline was furloughing pilots)?

One must know where leverage lies in order to exploit it.
