I'm glad illegals are gone. Ugh. I hated continuous duty trips. Worst one on the 320 was DTW-LGA-DTW with 6:59 on the ground. Yuck!

I'm glad they're gone, & I'm glad the PWA doesn't allow them.

Company and ALPA say AS is not replacing us. That SEA is not a hub and we don't code share on THAT flight. Meanwhile the duck spotters think they have a duck spotted based on it's Anatidae like characteristics.
I thought that was Jimi Hendrix on the tail. LOL Did you know that several years ago, DAL was considering buying Alaska? I guess that would take care of the "Not code sharing on that flight" issue. Anyway, this isn't the first time DAL has done this. I beleive they did same sort of thing with AeroMexico out of LAX as well. I can't prove it, but it sure looked like it.

So... With a GSWC in regards to pay:

My trip A(4day): JUN04-JUN07 = 21:00 pay & credit (normal)

GSWC trip B(4day): JUN03-06 =21:00 pay/no credit

Does the GSWC pay: 21:00 trip A pay/credit + 21:00 pay/no credit?

Ttl: 21:00 credit and 42:00 pay?

I guess this benefit is to get double pay for a trip when you were going to be at work anyway? (not as a triple pay situation?)

and the normal GS is working for double pay on otherwise days off?

This would appear to me that it is in my (and pretty much any pilot's) best interest to use GSWC as much as possible to utilize the rules of the PWA to the fullest extent.

The drawback is you are risking that another pilot would pick up a trip at WS or normal GS and not allow you to maximize pay opportunities, but to each their own....more risk more potential reward

Your last sentence is exactly why this is a difficult strategy to pull off. This happened when we had Delta Express, and that is EXACTLY why we got the language we now have for GSWC. Those guys played the game, and everybody did it. In the current case, it really isn't worth it. You will have too many regular GS and WS to make it fly. Especially since the reserve system sucks the big one, and it will be a case of the senior guys making out like bandits, and reserves working their a$$ off. I am not advocating either strategy, but I don't think the payout will be worth it to enough guys.

this is one of many many small incremental moves going on between DAL and AK that tells me there is more than a JV going on here.

AA and JB in JFK is another piece of this puzzle.

...just sayin'

I agree. It becomes a question of if a Code Share is good enough or to get the full benefits we need to acquire them.

Also, I believe that since everyone has to have access to the first green slip before second ones are handed out, you will see senior guys get their GS and then WS as much as they can. It might actually decrease the number of GS handed out.

Going back to the 5 day trips, you can have them. I'm in Memphis and suddenly we're full of them. I do find it odd that everyone hear demands them, yet as one of the most junior block holders down here, or back in DTW when I was there, I usually ended up with 3 5-day trips a month.

I'm guessing MEM is seeing them just to keep us busy and prevent our closure. We basically leave MEM and may see it once during those 5 days, when we return. I do miss our 1 day FL turns, those were the glory days.
