In light of the trend data, our MEC did likely save folks like me a furlough (which would have looked bad given their support for the merger). I appreciate their work.
The structure of the Compass flowback is likely more of a deterrent to furloughs than anything else in this contract or anything this MEC did. Kind of ironic as many on here slammed the Compass set-up during merger discussions. Believe me, I wasn't in favor of offering scope relief when Compass was formed. It did however provide job opportunities for our furloughed and should prove to assist/prevent future furloughs--that is until this MEC gives these flowbacks away as well.

You can have all the JFK all-nighters if you want them. Welcome to DAL's way of utilizing the 757. I don't see any trips that are much different than what the ATL, JFK, CVG, SLC, or LAX pilots have been doing when it comes to domestic flying.

Hey PatBuzz,

The difference is that your old company has made crappy trips a way of life for a long time. Our old company did it up right particularly on the 75. See PatBuzz, we ex NWA guys have a unique perspective. Unlike you we have seen both sides and let me tell you.........you're always quick to say move on, I'm quick to say let's fix it. Maybe you should "harmonize" your way of thinking to the former NWA pilots way of thinking. We are not much on rolling over. So maybe it's time for you to move on.

Happy Easter! Hopefully we all find more flying, jobs, jets, scope, and pay in our eggs going forward

Are we going to start out easter morning sounding like flight attendants?

And come on enuff, lousy Atlanta weather in the summer? I guess as opposed to the optimum DTW winter weather from October-April? You're not scared of thunderstorms are you?

FWIW, there are a lot of guys wishing you weren't flying ATL trips too, and they'll let you know about it. Everyone can complain together then. They'll tell you how they want their 767 domestic category back. They want their 764s back in ATL and the A330 out. They want their left seat back. They want their 737 back, they want their base back, and so on.

Just a fair warning, if you want a fight and you really want a fight with the Delta south folks then there are guys willing to give it to you, or like Buzz said, growing pains, move on.

I don't care if you want to vent, do as you wish, its a blog. Its free.

But is it worth it?

Now I see the "Florida Shuttle" out of ATL.

You don't run 4 consecutive 13 hour duty with this crowd with no warning. This is going to go over like a fart in church, and guys who don't look at the bid packet ahead of time are in for a nasty surprise.

Nu

There aren't any "4 consecutive 13 hour duty" trips in the May DTW 7ER bid package. There have been lots of "good deals" at Delta over the years... the Frankfurt hub, the SLC 737 Classic, the old 727 Shuttle Standby, the LAX 764 Hawaii operation, the L1011, and one thing they all have in common is that they all eventually expire. Stick around though, there will be others.

Whatever an airbender is,

It goes both ways ace. I've been doing this job for a looooong time, I'm not intimidated by threats. There are some effed up things around here that need to be fixed. You move on. Oh, and most importantly read my original post. I never blamed any of my Delta counterparts just the new company we both work for.

Enuff,
Not to sound arrogant, but at least you guys have the category.
I was displaced twice and kicked out of the base to come to MSP with mostly incommutable trips. But I decided not to worry about it.
Point is we got to be angry for 2012 and I love posts like yours.
If we get comfortable and complacent - we'll miss the boat again.

Well, I must admit he is filling an important need here....

He's making sure someone is always being "that guy"!!

Its called a merger.....Things have changed and will change more in the future.

Life,

You nailed it right on the head. My disdain is not toward any Delta pilot be it north or south. There are things like construction of trips, commuting policy, 23k recovery and numerous other items that need to be addressed. The apologist crowd on here loves to make it a north/south thing because they have some type of love affair with DELTA. They get offended if you say anything that is not the company line. For me it's about improving on what I already have. That's not complaining, that's setting high standards. Hope you get to the position you want sooner than later.
