Thought for second we were getting C*ck-blocked, but it seems our deal is still in play:
In addition to the access to Reagan National outlined today, last week JetBlue filed for approval from the United States Department of Transportation on a proposed slot transfer transaction with US Airways that would result in JetBlue securing a further five in-perimeter slot pairs at Reagan National. In order to offer a robust schedule that provides even more value for Reagan National customers, JetBlue today petitioned the FAA for access to unused slot pairs in the early morning and late-evening hours.

Yes. But the in-base reserve pilots will have priority over you.
It's darn near impossible. You'd be better served just putting in a white slip or green slip.

I wonder what the status of picking up "ecrew swaps" out of base is? Wasn't this supposed to change at some time in the undefined future?

March 31 (Bloomberg) -- American Airlines will expand its foothold at New York’s Kennedy airport under an agreement with JetBlue Airways Corp., helping it counter growth by Delta Air Lines Inc. in the biggest U.S. aviation market.
AMR Corp.’s American, the world’s second-largest airline after Delta, will get 12 pairs of landing and takeoff slots at Kennedy from JetBlue. In return, JetBlue will receive eight slot pairs that will allow it to begin flights at Washington’s Reagan airport, according to statements from the airlines today.
Kennedy is a hub for Delta, which has almost doubled service in the New York region since 2005. American uses Kennedy as its base for trans-Atlantic flights and has 96 daily departures there, in addition to 129 at New York’s LaGuardia airport.
Delta’s Kennedy push meant American had to respond or risk losing its “historical dominance of the New York City corporate travel markets,” Robert Mann, owner of consultant R.W. Mann & Co., said in an e-mail.
American’s planned New York expansion follows a battle with Delta over a partnership with Japan Airlines Corp. Fort Worth, Texas-based American fended off an attempt by Delta to lure Japan Air away from the Oneworld alliance.

I suppose this isn't much different than DAL codesharing with Alaskan.
10 years ago, buying CRJ's and farming them out to contractors was all the rage. Think of the cost savings! What could possibly go wrong?
Is 2010 the decade of consolidating all the domestic flying into two or three codeshares? Will the dominant carrier effectively shift all or most domestic flying to the cheapest carrier? Think of the savings! What could possibly go wrong?
Mergers are messy. Codeshares and shifting flying may be a far, far cheaper option.
Maybe this is the beginning of strong union carriers (aka AMR) effectively shifting their domestic flying to cheaper domestic non-union carriers (aka JetBlue)? Are we seeing just another variant of the CRJ "Z scale" in action?

The NW AFA scope clause states they will fly all flights staffed by NW pilots. They cheaped out and instead of writing a proper scope clause simply piggy backed on the pilots scope language. This was a mistake however they are making the argument that the intent was that only NW flight attendants fly NW equipment. They stand a good chance of winning this arbitration since I think most would agree that was the intent.
That the Company shall cease and desist the integration of all flight crews and restore the status quo ante (that the Company shall schedule only pre-merger NW flight attendants to work on aircraft flown only by pre-merger NW pilots). That the Company shall provide make whole relief to the Union and affected flight attendants. And, any and all such other relief deemed just and necessary.
You really think the courts are going to allow that? I don't think the AFA is going to win, because the scope clause talks only about pilots on the NWA seniority list. There isn't a NWA pilot seniority list - it merged with the Delta pilot senority list with the merger.
If the company had balls - it would say, "Sure - we'll do what you want. But the only aircraft operated by only pre-merger NW pilots is the B747-400. Because of the union and the scope clause, we have to staff the DC9, A320, B757 and A330 with pre-merger Delta FAs. So - we're going to furlough on the pre-merger NWA side and hire like crazy on the pre-merger Delta side. What? You don't like that? It's just want you wanted!"

Here's what the AFA wants:
That the Company shall cease and desist the integration of all flight crews and restore the status quo ante (that the Company shall schedule only pre-merger NW flight attendants to work on aircraft flown only by pre-merger NW pilots). That the Company shall provide make whole relief to the Union and affected flight attendants. And, any and all such other relief deemed just and necessary.

That the Company shall restore the status quo ante (that the Company shall only have flight attendants who are single, minimum age of 21, height 5'3" to 5'9", weigh 105 to 140 lbs, good health, good vision, high school graduate (2 years college preferred), knowledge of a foreign language). That the Company shall provide make whole relief to the Delta Air Line Pilots Union and affected pilots. And, any and all such other relief deemed just and necessary.
