Question for those of you who've been here a while. Why do our MD-88s have a 3x2 configuration rather than the 3x2 in the DC9s, MD90s and everywhere else?

I'm trying to find if anyhwere they've posted a seating chart so I can see what our 88 will look like with 150 seats. I see other airline charts and the current 150 seat MD90 chart. I can't imagine what we'll find back there once we remove the aft galleys and shed light on the disco area.

But why? I know someone will say its for voyuer reasons when scoping the gear but as one who has scoped the gear I didn't have that luxury. And the people after of me we're not happy with their view either. It was an all around lose lose situation.

Speaking of the 88, here is Delta's first 88 after the cockpit was circumsized and I guess moved to a safe location until being put in a museum.

Couple that with the fact that they can potentially sink an airline due to work stoppages, strikes, etc etc, makes me worried. I worked my a$$ off to get hired by my dream airline which is Delta....I sure as hell dont want an FA bringing my company down.
I understand your angst on the issue, but statistically speaking, you are worried about the wrong group. Management, through either greed, stupidity, arrogance, incompetence, ego, inability to adapt, and just plain old incompetence has brought down far more once high flying airlines than flight attendants.

Scoop - Still keeping my fingers crossed on this management team.

PS - And if the flight attendants were to bring down DAL it would only be possible via management incompetence.

I'm not sure I totally understand your question, but I know 10 or 15 years ago the FAA made us pull 4 seats out of the narrow bodies near exit rows. I believe it was for wheel chair access or something. Another possible answer is of course the minimum staffing of 3 versus 4 FA's. Just a guess.

The reason why we're backwards on the stuff is because... we're Delta.

Same reason we are going to mod the 757's with the center fuel tank mod like Northwest... except use a different mod that stil won't standardize the fleet.

Delta will be Delta.

Yeah, they've been talking about fixing the 757/767 fuel pump issue since around 1997 or 98. Did they ever get those changes made? At least they finally got the heater blankets put on the MD fleet. You guys remember the mandatory pole check?

Maybe I should find my flight kit.
We have flight kits?

[quote=forgot to bid;786232]This is a sticky one isn't it? In a good world we'd stand up together for any part of our employee group and say until thats resolved we're not flying your planes. In the real world, I'm with you in that I don't like that a subset of FAs who have very little devotion or skin in the game could indeed destroy it for everyone else. I guess this is why you had to be property owner to vote, it had its advantages. Probably could've done without some of the other clauses though. Just sayin.

You said it a lot better than I could. That's what I was trying to get at. I back ALL my fellow coworkers at Delta, but when I think about what we pilots have invested in this flying game, it is a way bigger wager than pretty much any work group, yet FA's try to put themselves on the same "level" so to speak as us because they are "Crew Members".

Yes. It's the box that most all delta pilots who don't have a raw score of 0 lug around. You can tell ny the stickers that say hired not acquired, I'll keep my gun you can keep your change, various squadron stickers and a 9/11 ribbon.

I'M KIDDING!!! I've yet to see the sticker hired not acquired and I'll be sad when I do.

My bag has boring stickers, DELTA, planes I've flown and bland. I've been toying with putting this one on:

boy am I flamebait or what?
