I dont like how FA's can have a potentially huge impact on our careers. I'm not very eloquent, but what I'm trying to say is that MOST FA's are uneducated and basically raised their hand to get a job "flying" for Delta.....yet they can have a huge impact on our careers. Just sayin
The AFA is playing the waiting game on the new RLA regs. If I were a betting man, if they get the new card rules, they will probably win.
As for the MD-80 mods, I don't doubt it. I thought I heard something to the effect that they annouced a program to do an aerodynamic cleanup program on the DC-9-50s, including a whole host of things such as flap/slat/control surface seals, wing root fairings...the works. Sort of a LoPresti Speed Mod for DC-9s. If so, then they are planning on them being around a while.
Shame about the -30s/-40s. Maybe when SWA buys AirTran and parts them out, the 717s will get a new home at DAL. Ahhh, the irony in that....

My wife was in ATL and the background noise prevented a clear conversation. I think what you are saying is closer to what she was trying to tell me. Considering we're all DAL pilots now, who exactly are they going to fly with? Seems like they're shooting themselves in the foot. Additionally, now that RA is moving aircraft around like a shell game, how would scheduling even begin to conquer those complexities? How about when DAL N and DAL S pilots are completely integrated? What then? Seems like a dumb thing to cause a huge issue over.

I agree 100% with you on the fact that there is work out there if you want it, I'm not sticking up for her, it just annoys the $hit out of me when people make broad statements like the one you did. Hmmm. I did not know that! Thanks for the info. The thing that gets me is that when I look at the guy (Or gal) next to me in the cockpit, I KNOW what they did to get in that seat....FA's...there is no requirements....for the most part. Couple that with the fact that they can potentially sink an airline due to work stoppages, strikes, etc etc, makes me worried. I worked my a$$ off to get hired by my dream airline which is Delta....I sure as hell dont want an FA bringing my company down.

I'm like intrigued by the Pilots View video that was under Related Videos. I didn't know we could speak in uniform on a youtube video. Its not anti-company or anything and I don't think the company would complain per se, but I didn't know we could do it. Maybe I should find my FOM.
