First of all nice aeroplane (notice the European spelling). The BC seats take some getting used to with the 2001 Space Odyssey look. Screens are bigger on the IFE, that's a plus. Power drained my laptop battery though. Seems it wont operate a laptop just charge one that's off. Up front the cockpit is way cool. HUGE and roomy and that rest closet is the bomb.

As for the crews, much to my surprise they were very nice and didn't have two heads and horns! Hey Tsquare, did you know that guy who brought us popcorn was a YANKEE!?! We chatted for a long time exchanging thoughts and tips. It was a thoroughly enjoyable experience.

For future 330 crews who fly from JFK to points beyond, in the briefing room below the computers are all the forms and the envelopes you guys are used to receiving in a packet. We print our own fp and turb/wind charts. The plotting charts are there too. Rome didn't hand out the charts so I gave them mine from the way over.

FAs were really nice too. They said they couldn't wait till the service change to the Delta way. Only 3 up front vs the 4 Southside uses. That galley in the back though, just like the movies!

The comments from both sides was "everyone was so nice". Won't it be a great day when we don't have to say that as an expression of surprise and just take it for granted because we are all the same team.

The gate agents at Rome don't like the 330 though. According to them pax and bags alone put them close to MTOW and they can't load up cargo. I think pax like it though. Will the BC seats be changed to the Delta seats or lie flat ones?

330 guys, enjoy Rome. It's a great layover. The new hotel is a little nicer but a little more out of the way. Free internet though but bring a cable.
Just one more small step towards total consciousness and wedded
bliss!

Shhhhhhhhhh! We don't need that 330 to keep getting more senior. IT IS A SCARY Airplane

I have a few days of reserve left on the big bus before I go to school for the 765, probably just flew my last trip on it since there is zero open time for April. I hope to be back on it if it goes to NYC or ATL but only at a descent seniority.

I flew Rome last summer multiple times, I think the agents don't like it because they have to deal with another 80 pax , we were at max almost every time to ATL but didn't leave any people behind.

I personally don't like the BC seats on the 330, I believe they are scheduled to be replaced after all the ER's and the 744's.

I think that's the problem, you max out with just pax and bags. No room left for cargo. I even heard anecdotaly from an agent there last summer that an ER had to take some of the bus' bags for that reason.

It is a great people moving machine though. Takes a lot of people a long way. I think we are printing money in underwing cargo so the 330 seems to be leaving money on the table. Do you we have both 200 and 300 models?

11 330-200's and 20 330-30's. 243 and 298 seats respectively. Sounds like FCO needs a 747 if there is that much cargo to go along with the people.

We have 11 A332s and 21 A333s.

What were you on Satch, A330-200 or -300?

Does the 764 have the same issue with maxing out passengers and bags to the point of leaving cargo behind since its about the same as the A332?

Don't know which one it was. I was mesmerized by all the pretty colors up front! It had about 300 total pax. Does that help?

Yep, typically we had less cargo than on shorter legs. I wonder why if they wanted to take the cargo ($$) they didn't block a few seats and they would still be carrying more people than the ER.

We have 21-300's and 11-200's. 300's are 34/264 and the 200's are 32/211.

Sorry about that. I'm based in SLC but I guess I just didn't realize how senior the 320 FO bids went. Were are hoping that when and if expansion occurs in SEA, PDX, and LAX, that the SLC base will get a bit more junior. This is especially important to me, as my wife is a 20 year DAL FA commuting to ATL. She has been trying for years to get back to SLC. Her chance seems to get better every day, lets hope your's does too.

What's the max to wt allowed on E175s? By that I mean scope allowed on our DCI 175s.

Default Off rotation DH on DCI?

Anyone had any luck getting a DH switched to positive space on a DCI flight at the end of a rotation??

I've been looking at LOA 20 which ammends Section 8 to include DCI carriers in the definition of "on-line". I know guys have had trouble with this in the past, but don't know if this has changed now with the LOA. I'm thinking this may have only improved MAC charters though.

Thanks

40. “Permitted aircraft type” means:
a. a propeller-driven aircraft configured with 70 or fewer passenger seats and with a
maximum certificated gross takeoff weight in the United States of 70,000 or fewer
pounds, and
b. a jet aircraft certificated for operation in the United States for 50 or fewer passenger
seats and with a maximum certificated gross takeoff weight in the United States of
65,000 or fewer pounds, and
c. one of up to 255 jet aircraft configured with 51-70 passenger seats and certificated in
the United States with a maximum gross takeoff weight of 86,000 pounds or less
(“70-seat jets”), and
d. one of up to 120 jet aircraft configured with 71-76 passenger seats and certificated in
the United States with a maximum gross takeoff weight of 86,000 pounds or less
(“76-seat jets”). The number of 76-seat jets may be increased above 120 by three
76-seat jets for each aircraft above the number of aircraft in the baseline fleet
operated by the Company (in service, undergoing maintenance and operational
spares) as of October 30, 2008. The baseline fleet number will be 440+N, in which
N is the number of aircraft (in service, undergoing maintenance and operational
spares but not including permitted aircraft types) added to the Company’s baseline
fleet from NWA. The number and type of all aircraft in the Company’s fleet on
October 30, 2008 will be provided to the Association. The number of 70-seat jets
plus 76-seat jets permitted by Section 1 B. 40. may not exceed 255.
Exception: Up to the 36 EMB-175s that were operated and/or ordered by Northwest
prior to October 30, 2008 may continue to be operated with up to a maximum gross
takeoff weight of 89,000 pounds
