I would guess it's dated at least a couple of months if they haven't added the additional aircraft.
Gunships (AC130's?) make the devil stand at attention....and so would I if Delta was actually actively hiring/recruiting. I can't find that verbage on their careers page. Where did it come from.

ACL...I have a number of good friends flying for DAL. They all love it!!! I am hoping they hire off the street in the next couple of months. It would be nice to have some rumors come true.

Doh! It was an old link (Delta Pilot Minimum Qualifications) that I had a shortcut to. Went to confirm it after reading your post and I now see it's not the active link, which is http://www.deltajobs.net/pilot_qualifications.htm.

Just get your stuff up to date and in tip top shape. If the trend continues we will see hiring this year and maybe off the street hiring later this year or next. I say something will give in the next six months or so.

Keep updating.

I get the feeling Gunship is in the same boat. It has been a long couple of years. I missed the boat in 2008. My buddies didn't and are living the dream. I head back to Afghanistan in August. (9th trip...one more and I set the squadron record!!!) Humor helps...I hope I don't miss the boat this time around. I have updated my airlineapps stuff after every flight it seems. I have internal recommendations loaded on the airlineapps page and Letters of Rec. lined up. Anything else you would suggest while time is on my side?

If/When they open the gates, I would have someone take the time and walk your resume in to the hiring dept. The liked this last time so hopefully they will this time. (give him her your ssn so they can find your app too)

Make sure that apps is spotless. Perfect spelling, punctuation, and sentence structure. DAL is three words not two!

Great info...thanks!!! I have some terrific pals that have volunteered to do just that. It would be nice to know if airlineapps even works. I even applied to AE. I have not heard a peep in two months. Sometimes you wonder if they even see your application.

I am the new guy here, so bear with me as I am not up to speed on all the posts here. Since we (DAL) just received our SOC in January, the aircraft shell game has begun. I am told this will take at least 3 years before we get the fleet repositioned. We just took delivery of our 18th 777, and we are in the process of getting some used MD-90 aircraft to add the 16 we currently have. As a former MD-90 Captain, I can assure you this isn’t the best aircraft out there, but it is much cheaper to acquire which makes its operating costs very low. Other than that, we have no replacement aircraft on the near horizon. The 737’s on order will supposedly be sold as soon as they roll off the assembly line. The 18 NWA’s 787 orders are still somewhat obfuscated and an unknown at this point. They could be cancelled or turned into 777’s or even 767’s. Here is the bad news. With the acquisition of Northwest, we inherited 69 DC-9 dinosaur aircraft. Without costly overhaul, most of the airframes will drop dead in 2012. The replacement aircraft, if any, are NOT mainline aircraft. So unless something changes, DAL will be severely overmanned by the end of 2012. That’s not good news for ANY of us, but especially guys trying to get hired.
P.S. I'm online, but the little green light is off. Whazzup with that?
