Oldest DC-9-50 was delivered in 1975 (to AAA) and has close to 80,000. Most are 1978-80 deliveries, youngest was delivered April 1981. Rear bulkhead has to be redone at 104,000.
The average age of the DC9 is 38.2 years including the whole fleet. DC91 is 43.2 years, DC94 is 41.6 years, DC9S is 40.9 years (is that the -30?) and DC95 is 32.0 years. So do the math and 40-32= 8 years + for the -50s.

Whats the joke with the 9, "this plane is old, is it safe?" "It wouldn't be old if it wasn't safe."

The MD88 average age comes in at 19.7 years and 90s at 14.3 years. 757 is 16.5 years and there is a wide range in the 757 subfleets but the oldest is the 75N and youngest are the 75ERs and of course the 753 which are the youngest. The 763s are the oldest 767s, the ERs are younger and the 764s obviously the youngest at 9 years. The A320 is about 15 years in average but the remainder of the Bus fleet, 777s and 737s are all under 10 years on average.

747 is 16.3 years.

Just looked at DTW330A open time. There is a trip with a report time of 0700 today and 2 trips tomorrow (1 7-day and 1 12-day) on there. There is 1 RSV on for 9 days and the rest are 3 days or less. Glad I am not a scheduler

DC-9 lost alot of flying in apr,so it sounds like we might be one of the few fleets with alot of extra bodies.

There were a decent amount of displacements on the last AE.

Sorry if this is a repeat post, but has the wording on Delta's pilot requirements recently changed? It now states: "We are proudly recruiting pilots for first officer positions. As a new Delta first officer, you have an opportunity to initially be assigned to a MD88/90, a 737NG, or even a 757/767 aircraft type among our fleet of more than 440 aircraft."

I would guess it's dated at least a couple of months if they haven't added the additional aircraft.

Looks old, as we have 740 airframes. They are accepting apps. Keep checking it. It will probably have a notable change in the next few months.
