Any "Latest & Greatest" about Delta?
[QUOTE=Lighteningspeed;784454]
At XJ, the opposite was true in the past. Most senior CAs were making announcements "Mesaba Airlines or Mesaba Aviation Flight #," until a memo was sent out stating that the term "Delta Connection" be used and drop the mention of Mesaba. Nonetheless, even today there are many CAs who refer to XJ flights during PA announcements as "Mesaba Flight."
At any case, you are not fooling anybody anyway. The moment passengers step inside small DCI RJs or ERJs, they know that they are not on Delta Aircraft. Even the smallest Delta mainline jets like DC9s or MD80s are huge compared to CRJ200s, CRJ900s or ERJ 145 or 175s. Not to mention big differences in uniforms of flight crews. You have to be a blind not to notice it.
However, your concern for legal liability is justified, especially for non wholly owned DCIs like SkyWest/ASA or Pinnacle. If they run into accidents flying aircraft in Delta paint and advertised and sold as Delta flight (as they are being done right now as we speak), they will be deemed as representing Delta Airlines and as such will most likely be held legally liable as co-defendants in any future legal actions. Wholly owned regionals are subsidiaries of Delta so if they are brought into a lawsuit, you can be assured Delta will be on the top list of defendants.
you are right, our resident liability and insurance expert Bucking Bar talked about how we are liable. I'd have to do a search back but it was on this thread to see his explanation.

I know there was some resistance to the idea of having 4 members and I'm sure there was resistance to two candidates who were recently voted out of lec office. I like the final result, they are all relatively junior and young (except 1). No age discrimination here, but the longer career they have left at DAL, the better we will all do!
Yup. I'm pretty un-pleasable for the most part, but this make up, and the folks on it made me pretty happy.
Not fun to watch it unfold, or so I'm told.

I went ahead and shaved so I can no longer send plagues upon the DOT, DC or anyone and I cannot part the seas nor walk on them nor fly without a plane. I'm truly humbled at this point.
Glad you have something to jump for joy over Nu.
I'm not sure what the hell is going on in that picture though or what that thing in the t-shirt is, but for now, it can be happy Nu.

Delta drops Midwest
Many of you will like hearing that Delta is dropping Midwest from the SkyMiles program in June. I will assume that includes the code-share, however that is a separate agreement not tied to the frequent flier program.
Clearly strategy at play here. There has been talk from the Executive level that Delta is not happy with Republic when it comes to Frontier and the DEN hub and how it competes directly with SLC.
MKE was always a strategic market for NW. A huge collection of WorldPerks members (something like first or second largest congregation of members outside the hubs). NW even blew all the money on the YX investment with TPC. Delta now appears ready to just surrender the MKE market and rely on the hubs for MKE.

Have you ever flown with someone that reads the forums? It starts out like "heard any rumors" and then we notice all of the rumors we know are the same. "where did you hear all of that?" And then I say the forums and then I end up doing a carpet dance trying to protect my annonymity.
Oh by the way Buzz, give em' hell.

Oh, and I'm giving them hell. Had a great speech last night to a crowd of fired up conservatives. I'm bringing the wood.

However, with Republic, AirTran and SWA duking it out to the death in a three-way cage match, I think that getting into the middle of it is stupid.
Best thing for Delta to do at this point is hunker down, make inroads where they can, peel off some high-rev pax where they can, and otherwise wait for the dust to settle.

I agree about the number of Worldperks Members. They are valued customers, and they supported NWA for many, many, MANY years as a mid-western company (and if you don't know what this means to people there, you never lived in the mid-west...and I ain't talking about Ohio)

There seems to be a strategy in MKE. Bigger jets to MSP and DTW. It makes the passengers flow through those two hubs. Ticket prices are a lot more expensive going through ATL.
Mke is a decent size city, but it is wise to let the fight up there ensue. RJET has to fight AAI and LUV in MKE and LUV in DEN. They seem to be getting their pants handed to them.
