Delta Connection flying aircraft will only bear the name “Delta” as part of a phrase
referencing a Connection-type operation.
The above is the only reference as to how the name Delta will be used by a Category A Operator
FWIW.....

Does Delta fly to Tahiti? I didn't think they did, but I was on travelnet and saw a 777 DL flight from LAX-PPT. Just curious.

It is Air France from LAX to PPT.

Uh.. yeah this IS important. If our brand is being diluted, I think we have a reason to be concerned. As it is, passengers are clueless as to whose airplane they really are riding on sometimes, and this furthers blurring that line. But to ask you the question: At what point would YOU become concerned about who is calling themselves "Delta Air Lines"? would you care if Comair suddenly started this? How about Air France (when they are flying to/from the USA) This has a real parallel to scope in my mind, but I could be wrong.
I agree we should stay on top of scope/outsourcing/etc. I just don't feel we need to be badgering about it. That not only gets old but seems unprofessional. When that starts to happen we loose our credibility, and then no one takes us serious.
Once again I agree with the angst, just not with the way we need to handle it.

Factually speaking, they are correct. It is Delta Flight XXXX. Just another way to blur the lines as much as possible.
It is a PR campaign to try and hide the pig with lipstick. No more no less.
It is part of the reason that the MEH operation is in such trouble. MidEx Connect is not MEH, and there is nothing you can do to change that.

FWIW, at Mesaba, Im not aware of anything telling us to specifically say "DELTA" while omitting the "connection" reference. Most announcements I've heard say DL Connection. Also, our new ID's don't have the DL logo or name anywhere on them and Im told doing so was specifically prohibited by DL.
