I like the way you think but they do not operate the 800 variant, yet.....

lol and they won't....

Have you ever seen how long it takes to deplane an 800?
It would completely ruin their quick-turn business model.

Cheers

As I understand, if it's less than 12 hour from notification to report, when they call it's a proffer (ie, they are asking if you want the trip - you can turn it down).

More than 12 hours to report time, they are calling to notify you - ie, it's your trip - if you can't make it, it's like missing any trip on your schedule (bad).

crazypilot,

iaflyer is correct. If the YS trip is assigned with greater then 12 hours notice you are required to work it. If LESS then 12 hours of notice is given, the trip is considered a 'proffer' & you can turn the trip down.

If your contract is handy you can refer to Sec 23. It's in there.

SWA is being hypocritical. They want the government to REGULATE what Delta & UsAir do with their slots, but they don't want prices regulated. The govt either regulates all aspects of the industry, or none. Quit whining SWA.

Don't forget that its also hypocritical to demand re-regulation while at the same time circumventing maintenance regulations.

Do they still have pay for training? I don't bother to keep up but my guess is they do. Why non-SWA pilots run to their defense is beyond me sometimes, so what if they pay well for a 737, their company works hard to make sure you are not paid well for a 737 or 757 or 767 or 747 or 320 or the gorgeous DC-9/88 family.

They also don't want their flying out of Dallas to be regulated (Wright Amendment) yet they want us regulated by the DOT so they can steal our slots. What a bunch of garbage!
