If you want to sit on the sideline with your fingers in your ears and sing "lalalalala" till you're blue in the face, and wimper "why can't we call get along?" like some neglected middle child, you are certainly welcome to do so.
Or you can man up, pull on your big boy shorts and recongnize that there are some rather serious divisions that need attention. Prentending that they don't exist will only allow them to grow worse.
Unity is NOT unanimity.

Want to hide the fact that people have stepped on their crank and let the festering continue?

This tone of late is a disappointing trend not only to this thread but to the QOL in going to work. I can sit here and complain about how this merger has not been fair to me or how I am forced to commute to NYC etc. I never wanted to work at an airline like USAir and see those pilots burden themselves with so much mistrust that they lose sight of the important issues that effectively control their lives as a work force. Management. I was relieved when the SLI was completed. I took a hit like everyone but I felt it was (and still do) the best possible outcome and like the fact that we are moving forward. It is why these arguments over who was better and who did what only weakens us as a group. I am all for venting. Makes one feel better but only to a point and not when it has an overall negative impact on those around you. Lets move on.
I look forward to flying with a Delta Brother from a Different Mother!

I don't know why Ken Watts resigned. I do however know that there was a fundamental difference in the grievance process at the two airlines. NWA believed in grieving everything regardless of the chances of actually winning the grievance. Dalpa felt that grievances should key on important issues where we had a reasonable chance of prevailing. It was felt that it was important to maintain an good relationship with the NMB for the big issues. It paid off in spades for Dalpa in the seniority integration. Being credible is very important when you play in those arenas and there is a fundamental difference at the MEC level in this regard between N and S.

5. Rotations for former NWA pilots that originate on or after the first day of Bid Period 5 will comply with all hours of service limitations in Section 12.
Now I don't know about you, but that language seems pretty clear. Section 12 of the PWA contains all of the trip rigs. So the fundamental question is do you think that the trip rigs apply immediately when the contract takes effect or do you think they apply at bid period 5, like it states so plainly in the written language that your MEC and your pilots voted on and approved?
This whole issue raised its ugly head after the seniority list was done. ALPA merger policy says that after you have a single contract, the MEC's have X (I forget, I think its 30) days to form a joint MEC. Your old MEC took the position that NWA was different than all the other mergers that had happened in ALPA history and they needed special treatment. They needed to have their own MEC so they could process their grievances. KW was integral to this demand and part of his argument was this trip rig grievance.
They went to the Executive Council and the EC voted unanimously that NWA was not special, they were like every other pilot group, and there should be one MEC.
Fast forward to today. The trip rig grievance has not been filed, not due to discrimination, but due to it being a stupid grievance. The former NWA Negotiating Chairman even briefed the MEC that the intent of the language was to have trip rigs at bid period 5, just like the language states. What is the chance of winning that when your own guy agrees with the company's interpretation?
So before you indict the entire South pilot group, you might just want to answer the central questions. Why should we waste our money on this grievance? If KW is such an awesome dude, how come he can't even read the most basic language in a contract? Does KW have some other motivation other than fighting for the NWA pilots?

I am scheduled for annual recurrent training in Montreal next week. I have been blocked for 7 days. I assume the first and last days are travel days. Is there anywhere I can find a specific schedule of events like sim times, classroom report times etc. Also, I believe I book my own travel on travelnet. Is that correct. Thanks for any help.
