You'll love it. I do. That is, when I used to fly, not so much these days. One trip in the last two months.

Buzz,
I want to KEEP your schedule. I like sitting at home waiting for the phone to ring. It has its benefits. Like the fact that I got to complete my Federal and State taxes and write a five figure check while sitting on reserve. It sure beats doing it on an off day.....

I'd be happier somewhere in between the 85 hour months and nothing at all. I've enjoyed the reserve thing but just barely got my 3 and 3 in this quarter. Lots of time to write, though. Plus, coaching my son's little league team is cool. Miss the paychecks though.

I'm sweating bullets here. I looked at the report on Deltanet and got the best schedule I have ever gotten. After I looked at it closer it stated "never bid." I guess I forgot to hit submit after I entered the bids? I'm worried it's all changing now and I'm going to get something nasty.

On the other-hand if it works maybe I should try not bidding next month.

Crazy I tell ya. I hate penalties. Thank God I did not get one for 2009. The goal is to avoid one in 2010.
Not to be personal, but how is this happening? You doing THAT well in the market? Sounds like you are hitting the Alternative Minimum Tax, which yeah, hurts.

... and man you do have my sympathies. The AMT and handling of Capital Gains blindsided us after I mostly liquidated depreciated business holdings before the market tanked.

Since I've been working at Delta, that just hasn't been a problem. Don't make nearly enough to hit the AMT any more.

Has anyone read the latest SEA council newsletter and wondered what the heck is going on. I see former NWA pilots out on the line and they are all a bunch of great guys. Then we see this type of ranting from the fNWA reps and it is a little crazy. Are these guys just nuts or do they have some political agenda? It sounds like they only like about 4 people at the combined airline, everyone else is out to get them.
