They are stating mostly entitlements and reinstatement. Of course the CVG ER will send ripples either way.

Are they allowed to reroute a reserve pilot into a "golden x day?" That happened to a friend of mine tonight. If they're allowed to do this, then what the hell is the point of a golden day? The system is going to self-destruct this summer. Former Northwest pilots are going to call in sick out the ass due to commuting issues and a very generous sick-call policy. Couple this with the fact that some guys lost 2000 hours of sick time, and those guys now have no guilty conscience. I have a feeling the Northwest commuting policy will be coming back. I also have a feeling that our completion factor is going to be god awful. There are some major flaws in staffing on certain fleets.

Remember, the bids aren't final until they are pushed to eCrew. I've seen several times where my schedule as published on DeltaNet were messed up. They ran PBS several times before getting published on eCrew. Don't call DALPA until they go final.

This is not a failure of ALPA. When you are at an airport controlled by DHS you are attempting to exercise a PRIVILEGE, not a right. Ergo, you have no legal recourse. The accuse you, cost the company money and you embarrassment, they are doing their duty to protect the passengers. There is not too much legal ground here.
The best advice is to make darn sure you are sober and not even hung over. They catch one guy and they prove their point.

And when the government comes knocking on the door for your guns and first born child, you will gladly surrender both because they have jurisdiction to do as they want, as long as they have made it a policy?

ALPA has nothing to do with it. Same deal with CREWPASS. It is up to DHS, not ALPA. Their time line not ours. We can push but that is all we cal do.
I wish it was different but the fact is that TSA has the federal jurisdiction to do what they want how they want as well as forcing you do surrender your license. We are on their turf. Right or wrong, it is what it is.

Speaking of the next AE (whenever it may be), any word on whether the DC9 displacements were all completed in Jan, or do they still have some more drawing down to do because of the aircraft retirements?

I remember when Lying Dick told everyone that the merger would not effect CVG. And that Delta had no intention of closing anything.

Well, it appears that all the ground ops will now be provided by mainline Delta, this has to be a good thing.
