Any "Latest & Greatest" about Delta?
ACL, seriously, do we have the staffing for summer?
Just got assessed an extra 300 dollars after my property tax adjustment... so I sure as heck hope not and want to roll some thunder!
Speaking of... has anyone ever had a GS dissappear from PCS before your "process until date?" I had a blanket request for the month drop away on me, and I would have gotten it this morning (someone got a #2).
I deleted it.
I don't know why. I just did it.

Are they allowed to reroute a reserve pilot into a "golden x day?" That happened to a friend of mine tonight. If they're allowed to do this, then what the hell is the point of a golden day? The system is going to self-destruct this summer. Former Northwest pilots are going to call in sick out the ass due to commuting issues and a very generous sick-call policy. Couple this with the fact that some guys lost 2000 hours of sick time, and those guys now have no guilty conscience. I have a feeling the Northwest commuting policy will be coming back. I also have a feeling that our completion factor is going to be god awful. There are some major flaws in staffing on certain fleets.

No, a golden day cannot be violated. You have to be back in base by 2359 unless its completely out of their control (like flights cancelling out the wazoo in the NE and no one getting in or out). What were the circumstances?
Instead of going on a massive rabbit trail rant about the system falling apart after a short and self-announcing that you are uninformed intro, I suggest telling the circumstances of what happened... or for starters, asking the person in question and get the facts.
One of my two favorite movies. I hear that Yeager is a jerk in real life... too bad. The movie persona was a guy I'd like to have a beer with.

OK then, he can grieve it and will win. I wouldn't have accepted the reroute while reminding them of the requirement to have me back. Did the original version of the reroute get him back before midnight?
It wouldn't have gotten any farther than that, I can assure you.
I disagree with your assessment. The few instances of DL schedulers trying to act like regional schedulers in the past (and pulling something like you mentioned) have resulted in them being very quickly reprimanded.
Everytime someone has tried to push me around, I quickly remind them of my responsibilities. They have very quickly backed off.
I'll help them when I can, but they cannot make me do something outside of my contractual responsibilities.

I know what happened. I talked to him on the phone. He also posted it in the scheduling section of the ALPA web boards. He could have made it home had they not rescheduled him. He is going to call ALPA tomorrow. Today wasn't even that bad, and the system started to fall apart. My post is a prediction. We'll see if it comes true this summer. I feel it will. I am convinced though that Delta scheduling will bend and violate the contract like regional schedulers do when they need trips covered and have no pilots available.
