Keenster;
Agreed. When someone feels attacked they generally go on the defensive. Being stark raving mad is great, but if the purpose of being mad is lost while one is involuntary defending themselves nothing is gained. That goes for both sides.

That said, this is another good medium in which to discuss things. I would like to see the other guys come back. I know they get frustrated at what they term "group think." That is all well and good, but I saw it as DAL S Pilots telling them, this is WHY we do it this way.
I agree, Carl get out of the Gopher Hole and come on back. Same for Ferd. I know he is around here some where.

I thought the max reserve days on was contractual? Isnt 6 days straight the new max under the PWA?

Per Deltanet,

Attention All DC9 Pilots

The reserve parameters for your equipment will have an increase in the maximum number of days in a row from 6 to 9 for the April bid period.

(Just wondering)

Because the "shuttle flying" usually goes extremely senior. The top CA's in NY on the 88 can hold weekends off 7ER CA in NYC but stay on the 88 because they spend 100% of their overnights at home and get paid for it.

To answer you: they would be happier if there was a chance to bid/train on the new airframe that will be doing the shuttle flying before their "home layovers" are taken away!!!

(I guess all of us, from senior to junior have some "adjustments" to make with this merger......)

Why would they? To have to cover three airports?
You never know how many guys are commuting from the Northeast to MEM, DTW, or MSP presently that are already on the Bus and would love to be NYC based!
Going to training sucks no matter how you slice it, and if you get seat locked for the next two years and then they put Mad Dog's back on the Shuttle or some other airframe, now you are still stuck.

DALnet
Upper right corner is the web mail icon.
Click on it.
first time user is normally six digit emp number and I believe last name. I cannot remember. There is a password reset on the left side of the flight ops page as well.

Bar;
Nope, there are guys on the ER that have 18 days in a row on call. Same for all the other international categories.

IDK, but if you think that is bad then check out the WB's. Their max in a row is 99!!!

PS-Whadda you care? You're DC9 sentence is almost over.

Just a comment or 2 and hopefully they will be discussed. Why is it that most of the North guys have a hire date and a pay raise date, yet the South guys have just a DOE? Is there anything that is going to be done to change this in the future? 3 months may not seem like much but over 30 yrs that money adds up! Also, here is a thought for everyone. Why do we only get paid when the beacon is on? It has always been that way... That too needs to change, I say add an extra 10 mins per leg to trip that would satisfy me. Hopefully we can stand united and get some of the petty things taken care of.

Didn't I hear a fix for the beacon issue was on the way? To help with departure delays? I suppose it could just be wishful thinking on my part.

I've been wondering about the door closed vs beacon and the impact on the 3 hour rule for departure delays.

Let's say I go "by the book" and don't turn the beacon on at JFK for the hour we sit closed up at the gate waiting for our taxi time. After I sit an hour in line, I call ops and tell them the pax just hit two hours, I'm coming back to the barn. And their response is "you've only been out one hour according to your block out time".
