Any "Latest & Greatest" about Delta?
Yeah those badboys are good for about 4 hours if you're doing jepp revisions. Amazing how much crap pilots produce.
I usually grab about 5 or six and fold them and hang the extras in the cockpit for the next crew.
Group hug for being nice to the new crew...
If you are really nice, you look at the next flight set up com #1 and hang the trash bags too! On the outside of the chairs if they are going international......
Love ya Clamp, but this has been the heartburn from the NWA side for the whole time. Also, NWA wasn't PCL...you rarely saw any releases higher than 2.
No consideration for the way things MIGHT be better, or more efficient, even to take a glimpse, but all we see is continual justification and rationalization, sometimes to an absurd level, to the way things are.
Interrupt your pre-flight flow because the CA is using the paperwork? No problem, just stop what you're doing and do something else.
Get pushed and let technology work for you? Or just sit at the gate while the agent brings MORE paper?
Get the company to actually PROVIDE payroll information that should be free for the asking? Nah, just pay money to a completely separate company to get them to do what the company SHOULD be doing (this one is my favorite)...
Force the company to actually use the Caller ID the way it was intended? Or justify the reason why you shouldn't answer the phone in your very own household?
Allow a committee structure that has specialized skills to run things autonomously that need timely responses? Or just force everything to go through a choke point?
The company stuff is one thing, and none of us really has any control over it. If we're sitting here arguing the small stuff, then we must be getting along ok.
OTOH, as far as the union stuff, well, these guys represent us, and are SUPPOSED to have our best interests in mind. All I see is an effort to eviscerate the fNWA guys from the committee structure (the ones that have substance, not the chief bottle washing, here you got one guy committee) which at DAL answers to one person, rather than the way it should be, and that's to the entire MEC.
Ya know guys, if the ratio was 90/10, or 75/25 or even 66/33, I'd say fine. But you are dealing with nearly half your pilot group that pays attention to what goes on, because we brought a culture of WATCHING and engaging, and not just sitting under a toadstool. If they really want to continue down this path of ****ing people off, then so be it. I wouldn't be surprised to see recall resolutions out of 1 and 20 next time around.

Trust me, no one wants to leave NR's behind. Easiest way to find that data is to look at the max planned weight for flight in the remarks section for your drift down planning. That right there is where you can find the fudge. If there is some most guys I know will check and see if they can get everyone on. (It gives the max planned weight for the flight. I take the mlw and add burn to it to get a good idea if we have room. Sometimes there are critical terrain issues but they are normally noted)
That said, we all need to do everything we can to get the internal customer taken care of.

keen- give it a rest, ok?
DAL-S sucks... I get it.
Look at your FOM and check out FPS waypoint crossing procedures (HOWGOZIT). It's exactly what you do. FPS like worldflight has a very similar computer flight plan. Both release systems print ONE copy of that. ONE!! No difference between the two and only ONE copy of that in the cockpit on both systems. Geez.
As far as the nonrev thing, no clue why that happened. I cannot remember a time I've had to leave with seats open. Sounds like a dispatcher/load planning screwup more than anything. We don't leave nonrevs either on the southside... if we have to leave with seats empty there are always questions. Sound familiar? That's because we aren't a complacent bunch of cowboys.
The high horse thing has run its course.

Wish we had a horse to ride . Don't want to be on the high horse. Just supprized about the way the weight thing is done in that it leaves passengers or nonrevs behind. That' all. Not your problem you are just a pilot like me that thinks the compny has it's stuff together. That's what we all want to believe. I certainly do because I want the company to make money. but leaving 5000 lbs of paylod behind for no good reason does not make sense, That's all.
That whale sits pretty high up there.
The 5000 lb thing should definitely be researched though so it doesn't happen again.
Be careful here some of them the only way we can get them in the fltdeck is to put a twinkie on the dash and grease the door jambs..... just kidding!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Probably will never ever get another crew meal again after this is posted on the flt attend blog. I need to go on a diet anyway!!!!!!
Just want you guys to know that I enjoy the back and forth here and NU do not take things so personal. Stay on here as we need to discuss things and see each others perspectives. We may not agree on all things but to respectively disagree while making your best point may bring about new ideas and change a few minds that might make a difference in all of our futures. I would venture to say that most everyone on here cares about the future of DAL and especially our careers (or as some would say a sh--ty job). But we must move forward with mutual respect sometimes getting ticked at what someone says but keeping in mind that everyone or almost everyone is for change for the better. I never intend in any of my post to offend anyone, but sometimes you have to say what you feel. Sometimes that offends people -they interpet these words into how it affects them on a personal level. This causes heated feelings at times ---after a beer or so, they cool off. We are all on the same team at the end of the day. Carl if you are out there get back on here buddy.
