Any "Latest & Greatest" about Delta?
They are going to MKE to diversity. Best of luck with LUV and RJET up there. They really are in a bind. There best hope is for LUV to buy em.
It appears with new flights like HSV to BWI and MCO they are trying the Allegiant model of cherry picking routes and leaving when it does not work.
Ok let me rephrase, I used CPDLC on several ER's in October and November and the controlling agency's confirmed we were CPDLC.
Hey ER guys, do all of the TWA birds now have GPS and updated boxes? I hated taxing out and deleting the "CHECK FUEL" FMS message or whatever it said because you couldn't put SC's in the box and I always thought it was funny to fly a track with 0 offset and watch everyone pass you to the left. All you could say is "that ain't right..." and go back to whatever you were doing to keep yourself occupied like shaking your half empty water bottle until the other guy couldn't stand it and he'd call Helga and get a pee break.
We have some that are waypoint reporting over the pond. They may mistake that for CPDLC. The difference is that the wpr goes thought company to the controlling agency. It is my understanding that CPDLC is done directly. Different but the same.
I doubt it happened for two reasons. First you can't push until you have the final weight and balance from the Acars. Why not just put the non revs on then. I do it all the time. Second once the aircraft actually pushes every Non Rev I know is gone in about 30 seconds looking for other options. They don't sit at the gate so there would be no non revs to board.
Hey C44 guys, they have a video up on the c44 website of the officers reports!
Of course this was a close second...
And this I almost picked considering what it takes to post here:
Yes it happened. When is the last time you have asked the gate agent what the max gross they are releasing your flight for. We have discovered that DAL operated a little different than NWA in that 870,000 means 865,000 and they restrict TO that weight vs the max therefore leaving behind 5000lbs of capacity. Well we turned around and went back to the gate and put the nonrevs on because we could carry them. In our opinion, just sloppy management of numbers that gives dispatch the ability of not being correct because we coud not get a good answer as to why they were doing this. So I was there and don't tell me what we did or did not do. It was grand. Not many captians have the cahunas to do this. I would name him but have to protect him because of the company spies on here. It has been our history at NWA not to leave nonrevs at the gate if we have enpty seats and we watch the weight restricitons very close. Had to at out operation. Shocked at the DAL operation of leaving nonrevs behind.
That said, we all need to do everything we can to get the internal customer taken care of.
Oh motivational posters that now adorn the walls of the "Latest and Greatest" thread. I guess that means that this is becoming a cheesy institution too. Great.
