Any "Latest & Greatest" about Delta?
I had heard that it would more or less be a wash for mainline.... the regionals however.....
Need someone to do some digging and verify this:
Some folks at ASA had a meeting with some folks at Delta and some info came out that if the FAA imposes the restriction on flight time and duty day, that Delta would immediately need 1400 more pilots!!!!!
I guess it restricts the amount of legs per day!?!?
Anyone Anyone Bueler Bueler??

trust me, if the proposed duty rigs that ALPA put forth are those adopted, we may need 400 more pilots. ASA otoh would need a ton.
Think of the regional airlines going to our hours of service rules.
Now with a few other things, we could see a need for the numbers you indicate but not for what the proposed rigs would be. If it added that many pilots I would be floored. We have a max of 13 hrs of sked duty and the limit would be 12.
Keep in mind if the nine hr flight time rule comes out we are looking at all of the dinner and a movie Caribbean day lines going to two an crews. (with a pwa change of course)

Dal, you hit the nail on the head. FFD and DCI would be a major money loser. Bigger jets would be the way to go.
I have heard some numbers over the next two years and if half true, you might hold a line! : D

Paper? Really....... no ****? Not enough paper in the cockpit?
First off, DAL probably clears a few acres of rain forest every year with just the NOTAMS.
Secondly, we should all - both North and South, look at the bright side - a few months after the first combined bid and guys are *****ing about cockpit amenities- damm this merger is going smooth from a pilots point of view.
Does anyone think the guys at USAIR are *****ing about lack of paper in the cockpit?
Finally for all of us Southerners - lets just remember the North guys have a lot more change to deal with then we do. Hey North guys - DAL does not have the market cornered on crappy procedures, policies, and protocols - the world is full of it.
Not enough paper in the cockpit - Classic!
