What is the new way on the DC9? I'm on reserve and have not flown with the new changes.

It's nice to add more work to the DC9 job list, its not busy enough as is....

I don't know what the issue is that he'd resign, but it must be something of substance. It just does not add up that THIS guy would cry "I'll take my marbles and go home". Not in character by a long shot. Ask around from some of the Buds you have at the (former) north side, whose opinion you respect, and I think you'll be hard pressed to find many, if even one, who say otherwise.
Respectfully,

Agreed. You can't get 10 fNWA guys to agree that the sky is blue, but every message on the Webboard has been overwhelmingly supportive of KW.

This outlines a fundamental difference in operating. At NWA, the committees were responsible to the MEC at large, NOT the MEC Chair.

Not that way at DAL. However, even under the DAL regime, the NC IS responsible to the MEC, NOT the Chairman. We need to remember this as we go forward.

The entire system is revamped. Study the green bulletin and review the LMS if you haven't seen it in a while. The biggest problem is not knowing where to look for anything. You literally have to read every single line of type on all the paperwork to find what you are looking for. Obviously, that will get better with experience, but that doesn't do you much good on your third 40 minute turn in a row when you're seeing it for the first time.

As for the rest of the FNWA fleet, I have no idea what is needed especially for a 9+ hr international flight! Keenster you make a valid argument about your specific a/c why not call those that have the power to change it. Cheers
If you NEED a second flight plan just go up to the computers at the gate and print another off. Solved.

Haven't heard the street. Would this shuttle flying be performed by a NYC base? If so all they'd need to do is check out on the bus. Great airplane, you'll like it

LOL, why should they be PO'ed? We're all one big happy family now, right?

Would they be happier if it was RJs?

And as always, if you feel that there are legitimate safety issues, ASAP them.

I never let things get to the point of being unsafe. It's mostly a time compression issue on the -9 with multiple quick turns. I've only flown one day (4 legs) on the new system, but I think my earliest push was 15 minutes late.

Heyas JB,

I'm definitely not saying that it was anything but safe.

But where the ASAP system really, really earns it's keep is the reporting of events that occurred safely, but under other circumstances, may need closer attention.

The real power of the system is trend analysis, and to get the trends, you need a reasonable number of reports to make up a valid statistical population.

[Rant]

If you really want your own release print one out yourself. Go to icrew, go to flight plan, use that mouse thingy to highlight the release part, then click print selection. You can do this in the crewroom, you can do this at the gate...you can even do it on your iphone. I can tell you one thing, there's nothing on the release I can't find in 3 seconds on the flight plan nor do I care to look at for xx hours on the plane.

Re: the resignation letter.

Why is it only fNWA guys leave with this much drama? This reaks of the same BS as when the fNWA safety guys didn't get picked to be grand safety poombah.

I can count more than a half dozen fDAL volunteer with over a decade of ALPA experience who exited stage left during this merger and you don't read any letters of resignations from them crying about not getting their way.

It's the same scripted song and dance. A letter get's "released" by somebody second hand. All the Indians cry for their fallen chief... soon to be followed by an actual post by said chief saying blah blah it's not what's it being made out to be (wink wink). Same crap when on with the safety selections. It's even the same crap some people used with the 188 "email from the Capt to a friend". It's BS. It does nothing to serve the pilot group. It throws people who are working hard under the bus. All to feed an illusion that the supreme dictator is laughing his evil laugh in the background while browsing the DC area apartment guides.
