Any "Latest & Greatest" about Delta?
For your info 3 copies of ther release is 3 pages of paper or maybe 6 pages of paper, Every thing else is one copy. So plz try to post accurate information. I use my release probably 10-15 times a flt as well as writing down all important info about the flt on it. Sorry I might be involved in my flight to the point of want to have my own release. DIfference in culture. I guess the guy in the right seat is just a gear jerker and radio operator as he has no brain until he is a captain.
You've crossed the line a bit here... and I take offense to this 100%.
Just because there is one release copy doesn't mean the guy in the right seat is uninvolved in any way shape or form.
Just like DAL-S, you guys did not print out 2 full computer flight plans, 2 full sets of weather and 2 full sets of notams.
All you had was 2 copies of the routing, fuel block, and times along with the header.
In DAL-S cockpits, all that info sits IN THE MIDDLE of the 2 pilots. Either can grab it at whatever time they need it. I break down some quick reference stuff on my hotel pad of my choice just like I used to on the backside of the worldflight release. To get more info, instead of pulling the folded sheet off my clipboard, I reach a foot and a half to my left to get the info as need be. I fill out the times just like you did in worldflight and keep the fuel log in the exact same manner of worldflight. Like you, I reference the release 10-15 times a flight.
You may stand corrected, sir.
Heyas Keen,
Yup, and that get's to the heart of the matter.
I'm like you, I write all kinds of stuff on my copy of the release, and it's good to have all the fuel values/MEL info and whatnot right there so you're not continually digging around in a pile of paper.
We sit at the gate, push late waiting for paperwork, and the taxiout is still 10x busier than under the NWA system when we got the loads/MGL over ACARS on the taxiout. How the F does that work?
Personally, I'm a professional, and if they want to play "guard the paperwork 'cause I'm an all knowing insecure authority" captain, then they can just go ahead an log their own damn landings in iCrew.

And if the taxiout is busy... esp on something like the bus or 757 (the 88 is busy no matter what), something is wrong.
Worst case scenario is a quick second engine start with a runway change.
type 88/runway... start the engine, print it out, boxed items. Easy. Don't make it harder than it really is.

I know. Been there and done that. I've used worldflight at my previous carrier (with identical procedures and MGL and such) and literally grew up around it. I cannot even count how many times I've been on NWA jumpseats on top of that.
Change sucks... I know. Hopefully this is just your way of dealing with it.
I'm trying to tell you that it's 1. not the end of the world, 2. FPS is a very good system, and 3. Are you really getting that upset about 1 sheet of paper?
Incredible how we can spin up over having at the most 2 more pages of paperwork. I guess a few burbons helps in these matters. Don't take me too serious.
..... never mind.

That's my point exactly.
Speaking of, I hear a beer calling my name. Cheers to you guys for enduring all these changes!

Really,......paperwork?
And secondly, did someone call my name?
Have a nice day, and always remember, if we reduce ourselves to arguing about "paperwork", there HAS GOT TO BE others out there that have it much worse..
