Any "Latest & Greatest" about Delta?
No offense to the paper salesman.
For you DAL-S guys, it's not personal. It's just different for us North guys. We're just starting to get a little worn out with all the changes. I used the AWABS/FPS for the 1st time this morning and was taken back a little too.
The problem is not that it's a bad system, it's just not what we're used too. In a month or two we'll all be accustomed to the new system and the whining will stop. Until then thanks to all the guys who are answering our questions. It's much appreciated!!!
I've been very impressed with the Phase of Flight implementation training as well as the orientation phases with the exception of orientaion part 3. They really stopped short, in my humble opinion, of a full explaination of the AWABS system. There have been a TON of delays throughout the system on the DC-9 the past two days primarily because we don't really have a good understand of it yet.
Again thanks for all you Southies who are being patient and helping us North guys out!

The front page of the Worldflight release had something akin to our FDRA, the flight plan block and times, the fuel block, and the MEL section.
Hey we are your customer service agents. Standing by to take your calls. No option one for English either!
No offense to anyone up north, but I really hope we get rid of the ten commandments scroll roll paper. I hate that paper. The Captain just looks at me and says what can you do with this? "This? Why, I can make a hat or a brooch or a pterodactyl..."
No offense to the paper salesman.

I tear it at the end of the flight plan (howgozit), then the notams, then the weather.
Then I make believe that there are preforations and fold from there.. works pretty good!
Just one more time for you South guys who keep telling us on here to just get some paper out of the ACARS printer and print the PDC for a paper copy of the flightplan, THERE IS NO PRINTER IN THE DC-9! We don't have them, and we are not getting them. We also, do not have FMS, somewhere in front of us we need to have printed or written down where to go at the next fix. Having a copy of the flightplan to clip to our yoke does the trick very well.
I think he's talking about 3 copies of the flight plan, notams, weather, etc. I suppose one could always print out another copy at the gate if needed. As mentioned before, my garbage bag overflows after a trip from ATL-BHM. If anything, I'd prefer less paperwork - why doesn't our system filter out things which don't apply to the specific fleet?

Jug,
reference my post a few lines up.... that's what is the triple printout.
It works out to be about a legal paper sized length sheet for each one.
