You ain't kiddin. WOOF!! I saw a few women, and I thought to myself 'Why the hell would someone bring a leather jacket to the beach, and then just lay it on a chair in the sun?'

There is a thing called too much sun.

I guess I like to be at home. I think I did two GS on the 88 and one on the 757, and that is it. Maybe this year, nah probably not.

That puts the company at a huge advantage- having green slips. Not saying to get rid of them at all but it sure takes away the ability to negotiate things when guys will fly green slips. I may be wrong about this, but the green slip program seems to favor the senior guys over the junior guys. If not, plz enlighten me as to how the system works. And maybe that is ok, but I would like to see it be equitable across the board.

We will see if I actually do it. Of course, if I'm this busy in the winter then I think I might as well do it. I'm most likely going to be flying anyway so it might as well be straight pay above guarantee rather then credit towards guarantee.

Hopefully they will need relief on something and we can get something in return. Wonder if the union has a list to ask for. Sure does not seem like it.
No I don't think the company has the good of the pilots as its primary concern. I do think good labor relations is a primary concern though and I think the merger showed how this team views the pilot group as a work group that you need to placate or you'll pay the price (USAir/America West).

I think there is a list, I think at the least the reps have a long list but I don't think we'll ever see an MEC list until its necessary to negotiate in public and thats probably negotiations 101, and I'm not being faceitous, I'll look it up.

However, if you look at LOA 20 you kind of see that there is a list. As LOA 20 states the company and ALPA wanted to change some things with MAC flying and they do that but there were also a lot of changes made to Section 23. Some really good for us that don't in my view have anything to do with MAC flying. Maybe I'm wrong and someone can clarify.

I think ACL mentioned that between last year and 2012 there will be a lot of chances to make changes. I'd love to see by 2012 we agree to a 10% increase in compensation for the new PWA... all because we already got a 30% increase in between now and then.

FtB;
We will see what we ask for in 2012. I have a few different philosophies I am paying around with. Suffice to say, no here.

I would like to see an added 30% in the next two years, but I would suspect that section six would just open earlier. (Benefit to all parties as we get an agreement prior to the UAUA/CAL JPWA and have to live with it)

I agree that how we "feel" is no where near the top of anyone's concern. This is a business, and we provide a service for a price. Their job is to get us to agree to preform said service for as little per unit as possible. Ours, of course it the opposite.
That said, relative labor peace is very important. LUV and DAL has proven that when you can get your interests and that of labors to align great things are possible. The success and speed of this merger and integration is proof positive that there is a price for that.

Keenster;
It is seniority based. Top down is how the call outs go. Trust me, when it gets bad the IA, which means there are not enough people with GS's in to cover the flying. That is already happening to some degree. I get the sense that this summer will be "interesting."

From talking to the merger committee folks the end money given to the pilot group between the time and a half pay NWA used to get and the greenslip system was a wash proportionally. However, the greenslip system was spread out whereas the 1.5X system was heavily in favor of senior pilots.

Per the contract awareness bulletins:
A pilot who has been awarded one GS rotation will not be awarded another GS in the same bid period until all other eligible pilots (i.e. those who can be contacted and are able to fly such rotation without a PWA/FAR violation) have flown a like number of GS rotations in that bid period, or no other eligible pilot is available. Likewise, a pilot who has been awarded one GSWC in a bid period will not be awarded a second GSWC until all other eligible pilots have flown a like number of GSWC trips in the same bid period or no eligible pilot is available.

In the summer, it is a free for all. The phone rings a lot. When I was on the ER, my third month in the system, I missed an automated call for a greenslip that was 6 day 36 hour trip. Multiply that by two and that sucks to miss that call.

That is why, if you have a slip in, the bag is in the car, and the phone is on the hip!

keenster-

To clarify- GS goes from top down, but when you get one.. you can't get a second unless everyone else in the stack that has a GS in (of any seniority) has already gotten one.

Not quite true 80. There are guys that get multiple GS's. It has to do with who is "legal"
