Any "Latest & Greatest" about Delta?
80, was up when I woke up this AM at 0400. I am sure he will sleep until his sign in.
80 is a night owl if there ever was one.
A car has already has flipped on the way from school this morning near our house. I'm 8 miles north of I 20 west of Atlanta.
Jumpseating out of JFK a few months back to go overseas, and we ended up waiting in the check-in line at the ticket counter. Must have been about 15-20 people waiting on line with a floating 2-3 representatives helping customers. Basically ended up waiting over an hour until we got helped, which isn't my complaint as a jumpseater. My complaint is watching a First-Class passenger waiting in the Business/FC line for over 30 minutes waiting for someone to call them to the counter. Funny thing is this guy was the ONLY guy in the first class line.
Personally, I find things like this unacceptable, most times these FC passengers pay 5 figure ticket prices on average, especially on long-haul international flights. When these passengers show up to the airport the white gloves should come on immediately. Having a special red carpet on a separate partitioned line that is on most times as long as the regular line doesn't hack it.
I've seen overseas carriers provide curbside check-in counters in a separate part of the terminal with direct access through security to the club lounge. That is why we will lose money hand over fist on the international side of the house unless we straighten these issues out.
I've also seen a flight attendant refuse a FC passenger a bottle of water during the boarding process. Honestly that is not a common scenario, but even if it occurs a few times the end result is turning away a customer in the long run.

What's really funney is that in 1978 DAL didn't know the Pacific existed. Sometimes success is success for a reason.
I'm putting in a request for Family Medical Leave starting the middle of next month due to the upcoming arrival of twins for my wife and I. Called the CPSC this morning, and they told me all I need to do was fill out the request form off DeltaNet and fax it over to Crew Resources for approval.
Just curious to find out from anyone else who has gone through the process recently if there's anything else I should be doing or anyone else I need to contact. Thanks!

You wanna here a good one... My father holds the highest status available at Delta, Platinum I guess. He booked a business trip to Brisbane Austrailia. He was suppose to go BOS JFK then hope on Korean and go to souel then to Brisbane. He got to JFK and the agent made a mistake, and they lost his seat. The offered to put him in coach, when he paid 8k for first class. He refused. So there was nothing they could do rebooking him through different cities and airlines. So the plane left with his FC seat open but, because somebody didn't do something right they wouldn't put him on. So they turned him around and sent him back to BOS. He didn't care so much, just did a webcast but, still thats pretty bad.. haha..

Anyone had jury duty while at Delta? I faxed the jury summons to the CPSC and it sounded like they would try to get me excused. I would rather sit on a jury all month and be home than sit reserve in NY. What is normal?
