I, for one, do not find ACL's comments like that annoying at all.
I do not work for either of the two merging airlines but I am effected by the things that they do in my employment so I do pay attention to what is going on.
ACL's posts are quite informative and if I were to find them annoying, I would simply ignore them.

Just anxious to know more information and knowing that another line pilot like myself has the inside scoop gets in my head a bit =). I know he drops us what he can...I know if I didn't want to be teased I shouldn't be on this board ( or look so forward to reading his posts!....really they are appreciated).
Your right though...annoying was probably the wrong word choice...not sure what I was looking for. Disregard I guess...FP out!

FP,
I don't think anyone has an "inside track" for choices that effect bidding. By the time the next AE comes around, there will be numbers posted and an overview from planning for us to chew on.
ACL gives us an "over the horizon" view of the threats. That is good information, but not rock solid. As ACL writes, the situation frequently changes before the actual AE gets posted.
It is reassuring to know that December 9th is not "furlough announcement day". Thanks to those on the board who keep us up to date.

Buck, why you were up so late?
But he is correct. My information is not rock solid all of the time. Some of it cannot be for the type of information that it is. Other issues are covered under a NDA (non-disclosure agreement). Those cannot be discussed due to the legal ramifications. I understand that you find it annoying. I also find it annoying that we use NDA's, but it needs to be that way in this industry.
Now if they announce furloughs, I and a ton of others will be taken totally by surprise. I do not see a reason for them keep that one from people. The SLI is in effect over, but as with anything it is possible, just not probable.
(Disclaimer......I have not heard anything like that, actually the opposite)
Now if the wind changes I will let you know. That is the best I can do.
Personnel note. Resume is not being updated. But I bought a lottery ticket!

Anyone, crew resources included, who thought that no one would be bumped from CVG is kidding themselves. There are all kinds of CVG pilots commuting to NYC to fly the ER. They will come back to CVG to fly the ER at home. I bet 10-20 captains and FOs get bumped out of CVG by other pilots coming back.

I'm staying in New York. The trips I hold there are well worth commuting to.

There are additional issues with a ER base flying domestic time. In a reroute situation the time had to be flown in the category it was placed in. This means that during IROPS the company will have a nightmare sorting out reroutes. Somehow the company overlooked this detail.

I hope the trips stay good and a know quantity. With all the changes and destinations we are losing in NYC, It might get ugly.

I don't think they overlooked this...it's been an issue for a long time with other bases.

I did read an email that was upbeat, it talked a little about additions of smaller aircraft type but it was a type we don't currently have on either side per say so that didn't make sense, but otherwise I was reading that there would be "lots of things" going on soon and it was positive. It also talked about that we came close, may have even been preping for hiring as late as a week or so ago but that was stopped... for now. So I tend to buy what ACL is selling about good things are possibly coming down the pipeline.
...
What if Carl does look like Bill Murray? We'd all be able to spot him on DTW appreciation day.
