Ahhh, this must be the much ballyhooed "100 seat plan"....

In a few years, when we really NEED the 100 seat replacement, and things are chugging along just well enough, management will spring this on us..."we NEED 100 seat lift! We have to do it NOW NOW NOW! All the order books are FULL and XYZ Express has 100 on order already!".

In exchange, we'll be given some worthless trinket that doesn't even benefit %80 of the pilot group, like keeping laundry expenses or aisle seats on DH.

This is the exact tact that the ATA/RAA will implement "ab initio training" in a couple of years. Manufacture a "crisis". Plant the seeds in the ATP rule by exempting graduates of "approved programs", and in a couple of years, when people no longer want anything to do with this business, simply say there is a "crisis", and then you have 200 hour self funded wonder heros.

I really don't understand our negotiating tact. When the company is in trouble, we give concessions to bail them out. When the company is doing well, and needs more bodies, we give MORE concessions to bail them out.

When does it start going the other way?

On another note, here's a review of Delta's international Business Elite class that is quite complimentary. Puts our service in a new light.

I sent my second passport with the Russian Visa in to CBIT to be renewed. Should I tell scheduling or just wait till they try to assign me a SVO trip?

Nu;
Like I have said in the other thread.

We now know the score. We do it, we have no one to blame but ourselves'

If its really important I leave a two day buffer. You sound just like a passenger complaining about weather delays or cancelations. I guess the same thing I tell them would apply here. Last I heard Deltas private line to GOD was not working and they have lost the ability to control the weather.

P.S. There is no requirement they get you back the same day on a reroute. They do have to pay reroute pay if they don't however they can reroute you well beyond the same day.
They don't have to pay that reroute pay in the case of weather. Beyond their control you know...youd think it was the cost of doing business but no it's on our back!!

What would you do to improve the reroute "process", if given the magic wand? You obviously have lots of past experience in this PWA and past rules at DAL.
To be honest I don't think we need to put much emphasis on reroute after the current LOA sent RR pay back to double pay from time and half. As I mentioned a airline has to have some ability to reroute or it will not function. I can't remember the last time I got a reroute that was a truly bad deal. They have almost always worked in my favor under the current rules. That is why I objected to the posting that Delta's RR rules suck. Read the RR section of the contract. Its a solid section that escaped the 1113 process mostly intact.

When contract time comes I want the emphasis in area's that truly need help. Pay, Retirement, Reserve, Recovery flying ect...
