Any "Latest & Greatest" about Delta?
You should really consider a career other then airlines. Reroutes have and always will be a part of the industry. In case you missed the news they are expecting a fairly major snow storm for the south today. What do you think Delta should do? Charter you a private jet to get you home the minute your scheduled rotation ends? If I have something important to do I always leave a one day buffer. If its really important I leave a two day buffer. You sound just like a passenger complaining about weather delays or cancelations. I guess the same thing I tell them would apply here. Last I heard Deltas private line to GOD was not working and they have lost the ability to control the weather.
P.S. There is no requirement they get you back the same day on a reroute. They do have to pay reroute pay if they don't however they can reroute you well beyond the same day.

Its better to vent here than somewhere in earshot of our passengers, heck, it could be he's trying to remind us all of the shortfalls of the current contract, helping us keep our eye on the prize come 2012.
Oh yeah and before I forget, DAL PWA reroute rules SUCK!!!!
(I had better rules at a regional.)

The reroute rules suck at Delta? I know the rules at most major airlines. Delta's appear to be the best. What were your rules at the regional? They could not reroute you at all? Did they pay you double in many reroute situations? Did they pay you double if they got you home later then the same calender day? Were they banned from rerouting you out of your own base like Delta at the end of a rotation? Were they banned from rerouting you into more then one duty period beyond what you were originally scheduled for? If your 4 day trip was rerouted into a 2 day trip did you still get paid for the whole thing. Could you then pick up a two day on top of that and get extra pay? Were they banned from rerouting you out of base prior to your first flight segment? What exactly would you change about Delta's reroute section and still let them run a airline?

Nevermind ... got to check my schedule to see if I'm the one Sailingfun is referring to in his post below
Whew, not me. Life's better since learning to YS, go ugly early, and print SC status to a PDF file daily. As they say "when you brief for it ahead of time, then it never happens."

Take a look at the DALPA forum. There is a former NW pilot on there with a whole thread *****ing about how no one at Delta gave him a class on what the word LogSheet means with regard to the aircraft log book. Give me a break!!! I bet he could figure out what they mean by logsheet.
A few days ago I listened in the pilot lounge to a recent hire ranting about how abused he is on reserve to a couple of other pilots. I look at his name tag and start pulling up his schedules. I could only go back 7 months in DBMS. This horribly abused pilot has average 8.2 days working the last 7 months and 2.2 shortcalls per month. Throw me in that abuse pot!!!!

I might be a little on the testy side today but I am tired of hearing *****ing when there is nothing to ***** about. Delta's reroute rules are as good as it gets in this industry yet they are posting they suck? I would bet that 9 out of 10 reroutes I get under our contractual reroute rules get me home earlier or make me a ton of extra pay.

We have a lot of that at DAL-N. It's pretty pathetic actually. I've been here a short 2 years and I'm already tired of it. Some guys just aren't happy unless they're miserable.
PS-Any help with the contract is greatly appreciated. There were 3 trips in open time for tomorrow and I had the 2nd lowest RAW score so I was certain I'd get called. Now the trips are gone and nothing on my schedule! I've got some serious learning to do.
