Looks like Boeing is having a hard time with the 787... lets see, whats a good smily for this... or ...

Question for NWA guys, if someone went A320 to A330 is that a shortened course (as Airbus promotes) or is that transition handled just like if it were an initial A330 and you'd never seen an Airbus before?

And since I'm asking questions, does anyone on the DAL side know if there is a plan to one day merge the 765 into 7ER/767? I believe at CAL you fly all 3 types, 752/3 - 762 - 764, domestic and international.

Are we going to that? I know they'd like to just have everyone on the 767 be 7ER too eventually, I was just wondering if that was in the master plan as well.

Its less than a 2 week course if you switch from the 320 to the 330. Couple days of class and a couple sims from what i understand.

It was honest admiration.

I have heard talk of making the 767 and 7ER one category but not sure if that will happen. On the surface, it kind of makes sense to have one category, but once you look a little closer, the cons start to add up. The ER category FO's go to the sim every six months. Having all 767 qualified FO's in this program would definatly increase taining costs. Sure, it would cut down a little on the amount of reserves needed, but ER crews can already be used for domestic rotations in a pinch. Also, the ER crews fly a good chunk of all DL international flying. Not that the international flying is rocket science (hardly), but it does involve some special procedures - could be interesting for a crew that had been doing domestic rotations all year to suddenly be on a 9 day CPT trip.

Havn't heard any talk about rolling the 765 into the 767/7ER program.

Just a line guys perspective by the way, no special insider info or anything

So far great, managed to get the through the type rating without too much trouble! I haven't got to touch the real aircraft yet though..... They are way behind in training and my first OE trip isn't scheduled until Dec 20th! Hence the reason there were no 744 awards for the March APA.

Hey, does anyone know if now that we've had DCC, has every part of LOA 19 taken effect? Specifically, are there only 6 short-calls per month vs. 8 now? Thanks.
