I had a question about this but I think ACL cleared it up. I check my schedule at 1501 on my last nonfly day, and as far as I'm concerned, I've fulfilled my obligation for anything they have for me the next day. After that, I don't have to answer the phone or check my schedule again. Do I understand that correctly?

Yes you do.

Glad I'm not the only one to experience these short call shenanigans, WARNING, if they tell you "don't worry we don't have an assignment for you" then you need to check ASAP. ... when called to be "reminded" of a SC assignment that didn't exist, I checked and sure enough, there's a trip sitting there with usually < two hours to report from the start of reserve.

Buddy of mine just got a "trip failure" on one of these deals.

As ACL says, print your schedule daily to a PDF file and over write the file daily. It is the only way to protect yourself from "creativity" that would make a scheduler at Colgan giggle like a schoolgirl.

You don't have any further obligations that day (X day). By checking at 1501 and nothing is showing, you now know that they have nothing for you before noon the next day. If they have SC or a trip that reports before noon, they have to put it on your schedule by 1500. That only applies on a non-fly day. Once midnight passes you are on long call and are subject to a trip that reports more than 12 hr away. Make sense? If you commute to reserve, you will want to check your schedule again before last flight out to base that night.

You are correct except for the part about fulfilling your obligation for the next day.
You still go on long call at 12:01 AM.
That 1501 schedule check only means they don't have anything for you that reports before noon.

Thanks to those that are engaging those four topics in one of those four threads. I hope that leads to a little more focused debate, a little less flamethrowing. If anything, maybe we just torch a little thread, and leave the cheerleaders and kittens alone.

DALPA Sked Committee guys can pull the computer history.
They can recreate the exact sequence of events.

If you really think they stuck something on your schedule in violation of the notification requirements, call the union.

Yeah, but what's the point? At 05:40 in the morning, or Superbowl Sunday, with less than 2 hours to wheels up, does a guy do the job, or sit at home trying to get people on the phone? 99.99999% go do our job.

There is no advantage to dragging the operation to a stop. No upside benefit, lots of downside risk.
