You could call up the VRU and see who is listed on the jumpseat for the flight. If you need to cancel it, you can do it via the VRU too.

But I got a question.......Since when can we book a jumpseat via ICREW? It's news to me.

There's a link for "DL Jumpseat" under the NRSA travel tab. Did I screw this up?

So...I called the VRU and was not listed, so I did that. I have no idea what the jumpseat tab on iCREW does for you. Wonder why it's even there?

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

I went back to the jumpseat option on iCREW after listing on the VRU and my name was now there. I guess it is a second way to check jumpseat occupancy before wearing out your fingers on the VRU.

If they did do 80hr for time and a half the junior line holders would get screwed. As it stands green slips, although easier for non commuters, are given out in seniority order to those with the lowest number of awarded green slips for the month. So if a senior bubba already received a GS for the month and I am on the list for one that day (and I'm legal for it) I get it ahead of the senior pilot.
Having never been under the fnwa method I don't know if junior folk got any love from the 80 for time and half, but I know I get it frequently here now, even on reserve!
Cheers
I'm still learning the ALV thing, but they don't seem that much different to what we called "variable caps". The caps seemed to go up and down more based on seasons and so far it seems the same with ALV? Give me time, I'm learn'en but Ize kinda slow. For sure, with our current manning it would result in low ALVs but they are talking being short for summer so I think we will be working our butts off no mater which system is used.

Especially in the summer it was common to bid and receive a line in the mid 80 hour range, with the first 5 hours paid and the rest having straight time going into paying off your negitive bank and you pocketing the .5. Side note, I REALLY LIKE the Delta bank system much better!

Your right about greenslips going in seniority order. Our old system did too.......sorta. If it was a request for "high time" it went below non high time request but in seniority order. Also, as I said, we also had "premimum trips" that were last minute pop ups (mostly in the summer) that were hard to fill and they paid 2x like a greenslip. On another side note, those trips in EZOpenboard were even colored green. Steve seeing into the future? Maybe

As I said, I'd like to see numbers. It is close to my heart right now as I have a line with 85:54 and I'm not feel'en the love for the 5:54

Those are some pyschodelic dots!!!

The company has publicly stated that 2010 is the year of the customer. Customers have publicly stated they HATE RJs. One way to make RJs less miserable is to have FC available. This is also better for our premium customers. I don't see how this is setting up for furloughs.
The People that are connecting those dots are looking at it from a cautious standpoint. The see us ivesesting in rjs and staffing the airline with more people on narrowbodies as a threat.

The way I see it though is that like you said it's to improve the already diliked product of the rj and the staffing is to staff for the increased narrowbody flying (+10%). Also the joint bid aligned staffing on it's own by more senior people bidding widebodies and dal shifting so much ATL flying.

Fact is we are shifting flying and staffing where it's NEEDED not just to put bodies in place "just in case". If they didn't increase the staffing on the narrowbodies NOW we'd be hosed this summer.

So far I like what I see in that we are increasing mainline flying while decreasing rjs. That's what dal is doing to improve the product and let's hope it continues so that we do have a better product.

Default scheduling question

I think I was "had" by scheduling last night, but maybe some south guys can clear it up for me.
I was on an X day yesterday and had one lone reserve day today. I had the highest raw score of anybody on reserve and there were 8 pilots ahead of me with only 1 day of reserve.
The phone rings at 11:45 last night and it was DAL scheduling. I answered the call and the scheduler said I had a white slip in for a trip and he had a 1 day for me. It was an 0500 report for a turn to GRB.I would be back home by 9 am and it would put me at 75:00 for the month. If I wasn't over 70 already, I would have asked him why he was calling me, but I saw it as a quick and easy $600.
Does anyone know why he called me? He was specific about a white slip, and from what I know, a white slip doesn't apply to reserves.
I do have a white slip for next month, because I am a blockholder, but that shouldn't affect January.
I hope someone can clear this up for me.

I've never heard of being able to list for the jumpseat from that screen. You can check who has the jumpseat from it. Even if it worked, I'd be very careful using it. If you can, double check the listing with the VRU.

White slips aren't for reserves. Only green/yellow. January 31 is part of the Feb bid period if the trip was for the 31st. Can't tell from your post if it was for the 30th or 31st.
